had a wonderful time at this hotel, it was absolutely beautiful, the room was great with two balconies and a great bathroom. We loved it here, the only negative was the hotel website does not do justice to how great the hotel is.

Very nice hotel located right on the beach front. The front desk receptionist are super friendly and helpful and the process to check-in was simple and fast. We upgraded our room so we had a deluxe king room which was nice. The walls were a little empty and could do with a nice piece of artwork. We had an ocean view with a small balcony so the view was spectacular. The room was large and we had lots of space, and the bathroom was just as fantastic as we had a bathtub, shower and lots of towels. Also, we had complimentary water and jelly beans!!

As this is a Hilton Metropole, this seems to be a nicer and bigger hotel then the regular Hilton. The parking is £16/day allowing for unlimited ins/outs and the lot is not connected to the property ~ it's a small walk away.

Drinks and food at the bar are a little pricier but then again it's a hotel bar so we expected the higher fee. Nice atmosphere and ambience as there's a nice view of the ocean.

The dining area is large and quite grand. We only had the buffet breakfast which was great. The lineup for the chef to have customized eggs, waffles, or french toast is a bottle neck as people are also waiting for their fried eggs. You would need to speak up to see if he's taking customized order. if not, you'll be standing in the line for a while. If you can sit in the main dining area, you'll see a nice ocean view otherwise it's just all walls in the over flow room.

Outside of this hotel, it's close to the pier, shopping district, mall, Royal Pavilion and other venues of interests.

Again, since our room is upgraded, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Note that parking is NOT FREE.

I have just got home from a night away in this wonderful hotel, I can't fault it.
Our rooms were ready early, comfortable, clean and spacious, car parking was easy and £16 for the night an absolute bargain for Brighton, the breakfast plentiful and varied - catered well for veggies without having to ask for something different and the staff were pleasant and friendly.
We used the pool and gym - both well equipped and clean, the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were lovely.
The bar/lounge was a very nice area to have a drink at the end of our evening and has a lovely view out to sea.
I felt very special just going into the very grand entrance of this beautiful, historic hotel. I'd definitely go back.

We often see comments about hotels that are "tired", when they are overdue for renovations or repairs. This hotel has gone well past that point. It is a relic from the past that needs knocking down.

The bedrooms are disgusting (as evidenced by myself and several of my business colleagues), with the bathrooms being particularly dilapidated. Heating / air conditioning controls are worthless, and I had to wedge open my faulty window with a spare toilet paper roll to achieve a decent temperature.

Tempartaure control was also a joke throughout the meeting rooms we used - freezing on the ground floor and baking on the upper floors.

The cooked breakfast was particularly greasy and unappealing, so even that naughty treat was avoided.

The simple answer is stay somewhere else!

Thank you for taking the time to write your comments following your recent stay with us and I am sorry to read of your disappointments about the hotel. We have over the last two years refurbished over 50% of our bedrooms and are presently completing the replacement of all the windows within the non- sea facing bedrooms. We have also commenced the repainting of all our bedroom corridors and a further number of bedrooms will be refurbished in February 2012. We are also presently awaiting an upgrade to our Air Conditioning units which should resolve the temperature issues you highlighted in your feedback. I am sorry to read that you also did not enjoy the breakfast as we regularly receive very positive comments from our guests regarding the breakfast and I will certainly discuss this with the kitchen team.

Once again, please accept my apologies for the disappointments you had with the hotel and be assured we are renovating and improving the hotel on a regular basis.

Kind Regards

Perfectly fine hotel with very friendly staff who were excellent at remembering guest names. Stayed two nights. Had to change room after first night because someone had specified that they wanted to stay in the room we were first allocated (strange because, although it was big, the view was over a 1970s office block rooftop and looking directly into another 1970s-esque office tower!). The second room was on the 4th floor and has a terrific view over the rather cold, grey, windswept but surprisingly beguiling beach.

Rooms were both very spacious and good value. Amenities in the room were as you'd expect. Nice big bath and good shower. Only two issues I'd raise during the stay - the cost of the hotel carpark -- GBP16 a night reduced from GBP32 for guests, which seems scandalous (maybe that's the going rate for UK parking and I've just been out of the country for too long?) ...

And the other slight issue was the queue for breakfast. Had the same problem at the Hilton on Liverpool Albert Dock last summer. Not sure if it's an exclusive problem to HIltons, being over-run by guests at breakfast time. But nonetheless, huge numbers of people staying in the hotel and consequently a 15 minute wait to be seated for brekkie. No problem for adults, but when you have kids in tow, it's a bit of a pain ...

As for location, brilliant. Right in front of Brighton's main shopping area and just a 15 minute walk down the prom to the (very cheesy) pier and Brighton Eye ferris wheel thing (both the pier and the Eye, without exception, a total rip off).

All in all as regards the Metrople, a very pleasant stay, reasonable value, and we'd gladly go back.

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback following your recent stay with us and I was delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay and especially the service you received from the staff during your stay. Please accept my apologies for having to move room on the second night of your stay, I will certainly discuss this with the front office team as this certainly should not have been the case. The Car Parking charges we feel are in line with other similar car parks in the Brighton Area and a good discount for our hotel guests. I am sorry about the queue at breakfast, we do aim to seat our guests as quickly as possible and am sorry you had to wait so long on this occasion, we do find our guests enjoying a relaxing start to their day which can often mean large numbers of people attending breakfast at the same time.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

my fiancé got for my birthday a pamper day for both of us with aromatherapy massage, they would accept massages only if booked in advance and very rudely told us that the only way to have a massage together was to book it for 10 am on a sunday, we thought that was awful but we agreed at the end. the day we had to go we called to say we would be a bit late, the woman in the phone yelled at us saying that now the massage would be of just 30 minutes (instead of an hour) because we were late, when we got there they didn't even great us but separated us in 2 different rooms for the massage without explaining anything, so not only we were separated for the massage but it wasn't even aromatherapy massage and the girl not understanding my sensitive skin was rubbing so much that I went out bruised instead of relaxed. As if this wasn't enough we went to the sauna and when we were in someone took our gowns (where we had the key to our wardrobes) , we had to go up for lunch and we needed the gowns so we reported this to the girls in the spa, they left us semi -naked and cold and wet for hours trying to investigate who took our gowns, instead of giving us new ones they kept saying that was our fault that we didn't remember where we left them. Finally they found out that 2 other women had taken them. They didn't even apologize for this treatment. That day I totally wasn't in the mood of complaining since it was our special day out, but we got so frustrated and unhappy of this experience that we don't even want to hear of Hilton in a 100 years. We surely don't advise anyone to go here in a particular way in the spa. I am still upset by this experience after 3 months.
