Just back from a one night's stay at the Mercure Hotel. Hotel is very grand once inside, it has a beautiful regency staircase. Our room was on the third floor towards the back as we had asked The room was clean, with lovely cotton sheets. The shower had a little seat in it which was welcome after walking about town for hours. The toilet handle was broken, and also a smell of drains came up everytime you finished with the sink! Yuk! We only booked the room and when i asked how much breakfast was i was informed it was £10 each for myself and my son, which i thought was outrageous, we decided to walk 5 mins to a lovely cafe on the seafront and had a lovely cooked breakfast, with toast jam and drinks etc for £11. Nice hotel but expensive.
