We booked our room last minute as we wanted to spend just the one night in Brighton. The hotel is about ten minutes walk from the centre of town but does face the sea. We had a room at the back of the hotel but ot was substantial in size. The room had a large double bed and a sofa bed. We had to turn this around to watch the TV, as it was between the bed and the TV so the positioning was not ideal, but other than that the room was well appointed. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Not a fantastic hotel but, if you do not want to be in the centre of town, this is highly recommended.

A well positioned hotel, both Brighton and Hove are within easy walking distance, with helpful friendly staff and a car park offering a rate much lower than many of the others in this area. The room allocated (256) - although not having a view to talk about - was clean neat and tidy and we heard no noise at all during the night ensuring 2 good nights sleep.Good room rates were obtained through booking.com at just over a weeks notice.

Stayed here with my wife and baby. Room was clean and hotel was in a great location. Cot was nice and clean in the room. Managed to park out on the front for £15 per night which I didn't think was to bad it is more expensive to park on the road or in another car park. Breakfast was lovely staff was very helpful. The only thing I think it could have done with was a bit of paint. But I did see signs saying they are making improvements. Maybe these could have been done other the winter months. Overall great location and not to badly priced. I did book as a secret hotel on lastminute.

Dear Luke1981_12
Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us.
I was delighted to read that your stay with your family was comfortable and you found both your room and cot provided to be clean.
Thank you also for highlighting parking – hopefully others will read and be fully informed for any future visits to the City.
We are making improvements (hence the signs!) and do try to do as much as possible in the quieter months.
Thank you once again and I hope we can offer you and your family a warm welcome sometime soon.
Kind regards
Matthew

We booked a night through lastminute's secret hotel, so paid a very reasonable (indeed, cheap) £60. When we were informed that we had booked a four star hotel we were very impressed. A regular booking is over £200 per night. But it is not a four star hotel.

There is nothing seriously wrong. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, the breakfast was okay. But it is no more than you would get in a travelodge, so I'm not sure why the misrepresentation is required, or even useful to the hotel.

The building is in need of extensive renovation in order to get to the stated star rating.

Beware of the parking issue as well. There is extremely limited space at the hotel, and Brighton itself has a major problem with parking availability. We were fortunate to get a space in the small carpark at the rear of the building, which costs £15 per night. While I don't think the price is completely unreasonable given the puacity of spaces citywide, we were not aware of either the problem or the price prior to arrival, so I urge you to make sure that you are.

The location is good. It is on the seafront and is, I guess, fifteen to twenty minutes walk into the lively areas of town. I guess that's where the mysterious extra stars come from.

Dear Gerard K
Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your recent stay with us.
It was reassuring to read that you felt that there was ‘nothing seriously wrong’ with your stay and I can confirm that we have been independently assessed against the laid down hotel ratings scheme.
This said we have a continuous programme of improvements to the Hotel and hope that future guests will appreciate the changes we are making.
Thank you for highlighting the parking situation both at the Hotel and throughout the City.
We hope to welcome you back to the Hotel sometime soon.
Kind regards
Matthew

The staff here were all friendly & helpful, room was clean with a sea view which we didn't pay extra for. Only possible faults weak shower, room 212, possible problem with parking. The hotel parking is very limited & you are not allowed to pre-book space, we were lucky & found a space in hotel's front parking area. Apart from this did everything we wanted for a one night stay, very convenient for the Brighton Centre, we saw Mark Knopfler (excellent)
