“A Wonderful Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 January 2013

My husband and I, together with his sister and her husband, stayed at Alan and Ollie's 27 Boutique B & B for three nights over the new year period. We were very impressed with our room where we breakfasted at a little round table in the bay window. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, my husband opting for the full English and me for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. My breakfast yogurt was delicious and served in a sundae dish rather than straight from the carton! Our en-suite was beautifully appointed and our tea/coffee making station came complete with home-made biscuits and marshmallows for our hot chocolate. Attention to detail is second nature to these guys. Even on New Year's Eve when we returned to 27 from our night out, a bottle of bubbly and two glasses awaited us in our rooms, very thoughtfully provided by Alan and Ollie. They also have a "snack station" for guests to help themselves 24 hours a day.

We look forward to returning to 27 one day in the not too distant future.

I stayed at Alan and Ollie's beautiful B&B for a few days in December. They were very welcoming and provided very helpful local information. The breakfast was cooked to order and was lovely - I had a smoked salmon omelette each day with the best sauce going. My room was warm and cosy with a shower/loo en suite - with little toiletries available and a comfy towel robe. Everything is immaculate and very very warm. I can vouch that they understand central heating! I would recommend this for a stay at any time of the year, but it takes talent to make a visit enticing in the chill midwinter. And you a get a stick of rock with "27" running through it - and they also left chocolate coins and a little christmas stocking on my bed to honor the season. How could you not love it!

Room Tip: I was solo so a little room on the ground floor with a single bed was just perfect for me. Its gre...

This is a fantastic B&B. The hosts are warm, welcoming and knowledgable- they are clearly very proud of Brighton and are more than happy to recommend restaurants, bars and things to do. We even had an impromptu history lesson! They really helped us to feel orientated and their suggested pubs and eateries were all terrific.
The room was tastefully decorated to a very high standard, and the en suite was excellent. Little touches like sticks of rock waiting on your pillows were really cute. Breakfast was served in the room, which really gave us a feeling of decadence. It was lovely to be able to enjoy the delicious food without having to dress and go down to a shared dining room.
The B&B is also nicely located- a short walk to the seafront and pier, or into Kemp Town.
But it's the warmth of the welcome and the attention paid to the guests that really makes this place. We would heartily recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Not all the rooms get breakfast brought up, some guests have to eat in the (perfectly lovely) dining...

Alan and Ollie are exceptionally good at being available without being in the way! Their B&B is beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious. The room I had (deluxe en suite) was immaculate and the bed was very very comfy. What more could you want?
Would highly recommend and will certainly return.

I knew we were onto a good thing when shortly after booking I received a text asking time of arrival and offering tips on parking - nice touch. The property itself is on a fairly busy road and not in my view the prettiest but the house itself is adorable inside and out and refurbished with impeccable taste and attention to detail - a quirky mix of antiques and modern. Ollie and Allen are charming and helpful and Allen cooks a mean breakfast - my favourite was the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.Additional nice touches include the natural Xmas decorations, little snacks, marshmallows for your hot chocolate...to name but a few. The Wifi was very hit and miss, and the property is I think a fair walk from reasonably priced parking but all in all, despite the rainy weather we wanted to extend our stay. We left the place with some regret and would definitely consider returning. Thank you guys

Room Tip: Ask if you want something - they are more than happy to accommodate

There's not much i can add to previous reviews really , this place is as good as they say. Nice well appointed rooms , lovely breakfast served in your room when you want , too many nice little touches to mention. We had a slight issue with the Wifi connection in our room , but this just gave us an excuse to go downstairs where there was a better connection and make a fuss of Poppy the dog , everyone a winner.. Thanks to Alan & Ollie who are the perfect hosts , knowledgable about the area , accept thier recommendations and you wont go far wrong . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back in an instant

Room Tip: Rooms 2 & 4 have a nice Bay window area with sea view where your breakfast is served.
