I booked a sea view room at the Granville Hotel. my husband also was very happy with that. We love enjoying a cup of tea and having a look over the sea. and that was amazing. The hotel was clean with very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Alter all, it was comfortable and delighted. Loving staying here and will come back.

We stayed there at the beginning of October in a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the small church. The room was rather cramped and could have done without the very large wicker chair. The bathroom was spacious, no shower but a spa bath, staff friendly, choice of cooked English breakfasts. Hotel not full because of poor weather, I always hope for an upgrade in such circumstances but it seldom happens!

Stayed at Granville last weekend, what a lovely break we had, the staff were on hand to help with my bags ( as brought enough clothes for a months stay ). Was shown to our room . We had a seafront view room and had a lovely view of the sea... found our room to be bright and clean and my god what a lovely jacuzzi we had ( this was helped by the wine we had sent up !! ). Staff were very friendly in the bar during the evening, what a giggle we had with them. Breakfast was very good, excellent choices and plenty of it. Thanks for a lovely weekend dear Granville. We will be back again soon.

Such a beautiful hotel to stay in for our weekend by the sea. The staff were really freindly and helpful, especially on reception, they made us feel right at home.

We stayed in the Brighton Rock room, which has an amazing view of the old pier and a massive jacussi bathroom, this was perfect and although it's quite expensive, it definately seemed worth it compared to many of the other hotels around brighton.

The breakfast too was superb and the one night we ate the in the resaurant down stairs we loved the food and service there too.

All in all we loved this hotel and will definately be returning soon, the best place we've stayed in Brighton.

This hotel is a throw back to the 1970's and it looks like that was the last time it was updated. The hotel can be best described as 'faded'. The rooms we saw were small and in need of a complete overhaul, from cracked wash basin to uncomfortable beds our stay was not the best. We refused our first room and moved to a slightly better one at an extra cost. The only reason we didn't move hotels was that we had already paid a third party to book it.
The location is good, right on the front and the breakfast was fine, the staff being both pleasant and helpful.
If you are looking for a nice boutique hotel in Brighton steer well clear of this one.

Our room (The Regency Room) was small, dark and dingy. It was not worth £85 a night, more like £60 or less. The decor was non existent. The bedspreads on the twin beds did not match. In fact they clashed with each other. One of the beds was almost in the bathroom. The small sofa in the room was covered with an ugly brown, orange and yellow throw rug. The sofa should not have been in the room anyway, as it took up space and made the room even smaller than it was. The chair in the room was slightly threadbare. The bedside light didn't work and to boil the kettle you had to unplug the tv. There should have been a separate electrical socket for the kettle. There was no plug for the sink and the jacuzzi in the bathroom was faulty. When I turned it on the water squirted up in the air and consequently all over the bathroom floor. A staff member phoned up and told my husband I should take more care when using the jacuzzi as water was coming out on the floor below. It wasn't my fautl their jacuzzi was faulty!! If they want to call this hotel a boutique hotel then they should at least decorate the rooms. When we first arrived we were immediately asked for the money up front which seems to be the case in Brighton hotels, but doesn't make for a pleasant welcome. There was a paper in the lobby which my husband took to read and a staff member asked him what he had done with the paper. The location was excellent. The breakfast I had was delicious. I had eggs benedict. The use of free internet and a dvd collection for your use was a nice touch.

Overall, I felt that we had been totally ripped off. We couldn't wait to get out of that horrible little room. There are too many nice hotels in Britain cheaper than this one for anyone to stay in this hotel for that price. In fact we left right after breakfast and went to stay at the much nicer Lanes Hotel further up the road for £60 a night. Our room was lovely and treble the size of our room at the Granville. If you want to blow £85 on a crummy little room than this is the hotel for you!
