Christmas at The Old Ship Hotel. absolutely fabulous. The Staff were exceptional, having given up there Christmas to make ours so enjoyable. The restaurant team, headed by Jonathan were very organised and the service was outstanding. The hotel with its history had a few quirks but in the end this added to our enjoyment. The chef surpassed himself with original food well executed and in my opinion achieved the correct balance for every meal. The only complaint was that the chef de cuisine did not appear to take a bow on the night of the gala dinner.

The hotel was very clean. The staff were amazing. The rooms are a good size although it was blowing a gale outside so the windows were quite noisy. We would definatly stay again.we got a very good package deal through amazon local. This included a 3 coarse meal with wine, which was good quality, also breakfast which was also exellent quality.

A lovely old characterful hotel on the seafront. Check in was very efficient and quick and every member of staff that we encountered during our stay was extremely polite and friendly. The public rooms were all very comfortable and attractive and the bedrooms / bathroom were very well appointed although a little tired.....but this did not detract from the overall feel of the hotel. Everywhere was absolutely spotless. Breakfast was probably one of the best I have ever had in a hotel chain.....almost too much choice and everything very fresh....even on the Monday morning that we were there on. As the weather outside was horrendous we could have happily stayed in the breakfast room all day ! We did upgrade to get a sea front room as we had heard that the hotel rooms at the side could be noisy....but even doing this the stay was superb value for money and we will definitely be going back - hopefully when the weather improves !

We can not fault this hotel. Everything has improved in recent years
Excellent value for money , with high quality service from check in until leaving
The breakfast is always good and service is always with a smile
We stayed in October on a dinner inclusive offer , and upgraded to a sea view room . The standard of accommodation was high, however the noise from young people leaving clubs was terrible , keeping me awake half the night. This isn't the fault of the hotel , but wouldn't book a sea view again
We do love this hotel and are returning in January having booked one of the superior rooms , which isn't on the sea front

Room Tip: Not a seaview room , too much noise from local clubs

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry you were disturbed from people from outside the hotel. All our rooms on the seafront are now double glazed and was disappointed to read this.

Overnight stay including dinner bed and breakfast. First impression on arrival from the car park is poor and unwelcoming. Efficient check in. Room was a sea view upgrade but at the top of the hotel. Room was small but comfortable. Water in the bathroom took at least 10 mins to get hot enough to wash with due to being on the fourth floor. The restaurant and dinner was very average. Because we had a sea view room at the top of the hotel we could hear the wind all night which kept us awake making a sea view room no real upgrade.
However, all of the staff were extremely polite and friendly. The breakfast was particularly good.

Many thanks for your review.

I am sorry the wind caused you an issue during your stay. Being a seafront hotel there is little we can do about the wind particularly during the gales we encountered this week.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for one night whilst in Brighton seeing a show as a treat for my birthday

First impressions lovely polite staff at reception .. room was delightful ..beds so comfy

The Old Ship Hotel is on the sea front so you could here the noise from revellers on the street late at night.. as there are a few bars in the area ..
We were shown around the restaurant by Gillian a very nice lady who was very informative ...the breakfast buffet was fab .. plenty of choice and a very high standard of food
I will look forward to staying her again .. Thank you :-O)
