“Excellent stay”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

Just had a night at the old ship hotel. Very nice stay, room's very clean and comfortable and staff very pleasent and friendly.
Ideal location if you like all amenities on your doorstep. Would highly reccomend for either a short stay or even for a base for a longer holiday.

I stayed here in the February Half term. Though there was scaffolding up, it was only at the side of the hotel so did not make a lot of difference. I did however appreciate being told before hand this maybe the case. Work was being done inside also.... a fresh lick of paint to the corridors but again did not have any effect on my stay.
The room was spacious and clean and had all you really needed in there. When we arrived it was a double bed but after a half an hour wait and a complimentary drink of our choice we went up to our twin bed room ;-). The buffet style breakfast was amazing it had absolutely everything you could think of to eat and could eat as much as you liked. Staff were so helpful and friendly and I am definitely going back again.

Just come home from a very pleasent stay. Hotel was lovely. Staff were really helpful and friendly. All in all would definately go back for a repeat stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and more than adequate. Well worth the money. Well done Puma Hotels. You got it spot on.

Our second weekend at this hotel and it wont be the last. The location excellent. We had a lovely room with sea view, comfy bed and all the facilities. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. Dinner and breakfast both excellent. Pavement area has been enhanced with addition of sofas so we enjoyed the fine weather relaxing in the sun. We'll be back.

I was very dubious about booking at room, having read some of the dreadful reviews that people had left regarding the décor, food etc. But we got an excellent deal including dinner, a bottle of fizz and breakfast, staying in a Premium double room which had recently been refurbished. I must say that we were thrilled with the room, beautifully decorated, lots of lovely finishing touches, including a box of chocolates and a card for my husband. The bathroom was also very clean and newly refurbished. The whole hotel was in good order and although some carpets are a little faded, the hotel is an old building and has loads of character. The valet parking was a god send and we were able to check in early for no extra cost. The food in the hotel was OK, it wouldn’t have been our usual choice if food hadn’t been included, but it was good quality and there was a good choice. The cocktails are delicious too! I must say that the staff in this hotel were all amazing. Every single one that we dealt with was a pleasure….they couldn’t do enough for you. We felt welcome, well looked after and had one of the best weekends away because of this. I would return to The Old Ship in a heartbeat and we plan to take the children with us next time. The location of the hotel is amazing…my only recommendation would be to make sure that you have a refurbished room if possible.

Room Tip: Get a refurbished room if possible

We stayed for one night this Saturday past at The Old Ship Hotel in Brighton and I have to say we had a great time. We were on a package which included a 3 course evening meal with a bottle of wine and breakfast the next morning. The meal was very good and there was a very good choice for breakfast from a cooked breakfast to the usual cereals, pastries and lots more. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a sea view room which we had to pay a bit more for but it was worth it. The hotel is very well located on the sea front. All in all I would definately reccomend a stay at this hotel.

Stayed in November 18th 2013 .Bit late for a review I know it was not that expensive for Brighton But still . When we arrived they told us we were in one of the decorated rooms . It was nasty to be fare. Stayed only a night so could not be bothered to complain . The shower was nasty. Do not get me wrong i have stayed in some crap holes in the past and it was only for 1 night but with parking it cost over £100 . The room was tiny i mean hostel size small . Needs proper doing up. My advice if you want cheap ish go for a B and B or Jury's in near the station. We only stayed here one night so maybe one of the other rooms are better. I know i mentioned the shower but it was nasty so look at that and you will see how the rest of the room was maintained . Just re seal it or something !!! And clean the rooms properly .

Room Tip: Maybe look at your room and complain . I should of done but we were there just to get our head down...
