Dear Reviewer

Thank you for your fantastic review.

Any feedback is greatly received. Parking in Brighton is limited and we ensure our pricing is not above nearby car parks

We hope to welcome you back again.

Got a great deal at late notice, double room was at the rear of the building but very comfortable. I had the need to complain about the state of the shower but this was quickly resolved and we were given a bottle of wine and some chocolates for our trouble.
Breakfast was good value and there was plenty of choice.

Purchased a night stay via Amazon deals as I thought the price was reasonable. This included a sea-view room and 3 course dinner.

The hotel is at a great location but as soon as we checked into our room all we could hear is the wind going through the window cracks. They were old, tired and needed replacement. It was making a very annoying whistling noise. Very disappointed as I paid an extra £20 for a room upgrade.

We couldn't take the noise so we asked to change rooms. It was on a lower floor and the room was smaller. At that point I felt like the £20 room upgrade was pointless and I felt robbed. Furthermore there was still noise coming from the wind, but to be fair it was extremely windy.

The rooms were clean but very average. The hotel definitely needs some TLC. We didn't know there was a pool so we didn't bring swimming shorts and missed out.

The restaurant was on the ground floor and it was nice and cozy. Perfect as we didn't have to leave the hotel to get some food. The three course meal was fantastic, service and all.

I wouldn't recommend staying here during windy weather but it's probably best during summer, specially if you get a room with a sea-view.

It was a very much needed short break but the hotel was very average.

Seeing an on-line offer, I booked as a birthday break for my best friend. We both love Brighton and wanted somewhere central, within easy reach of the lanes, pier and good restaurants.
What a great deal. We had separate sea view rooms. Very comfortable, Great Bath. I know this hotel can be deemed as rather old fashioned and rather disjointed, some would complain about the size of the lift but I think this only adds to the character.
Both the evening meal and the breakfast were very good.

Room Tip: Although sea view rooms are great, light sleepers may think twice.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a huge smile from the receptionist and James appeared from behind the desk and he was so interested in our dog, Norman and I was so impressed with the whole manner in which a dog can be made so welcome in a hotel. All of the staff were friendly even when just passing a member of the Team on the stairs they smiled and chatted. The hotel has its own parking located just around the corner and a lovely chap parked it for us, the cost was £23 for the night and next day.

Our bedroom was located at the front offering uninterrupted sea views however, the decor and furniture was dated and a little shabby considering the price we had paid £160 for one night bed and breakfast for 2. Plus £15 for Norman :-) There was tea and coffee in the room. The bathroom was a little tired, much like the rest of the room, but it was clean with a good shower head. I missed the fact that there was no hair conditioner so i had to locate some in a shop nearby.

We took the dog for a walk along the prom, he was not allowed on the pier and the beach across from the hotel was out of bounds but we did find a place to let him off just after the pier. The beach is all pebbles, i had forgotten this fact, the sea looks clean and calm - so tranquil.

We opted to take fish and chips back to the room with some traditional donuts from the Pier for dessert! Harry Ramsden's, only a 3 min walk away from the hotel did not disappoint.

Our room was a little stuffy and my fiance struggled to sleep but when we opened the window to let air in the noise was incredibly loud from the passers by. It is a shame that the rooms cannot be sound proofed at the front as the lack of sleep did ruin the stay for my fiance.

Breakfast - hmmmm... they had ran out of honey which my fiance really wanted and he said that his buffet choices of sausage, bacon, eggs, grilled tomatoes etc was cold. The choice of fruit were mainly tinned which was not impressive. Excellent coffee and service! :-)

All in all, the staff 'make' the hotel what it is as poor decorative order and the noise levels ruined it. We found the hotel on www.roverrecommended.com as we needed a place to stay with a dog and it was great for him. They offered a bed, bowl, treats, poo bags and a toy - I just wish the rest of the service matched the way the dogs are provided for.

I would return for the views but my partner won't!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have the best views but the worst noise...

Stayed here in a superior room, just facing off to the side road but we still had small window to
the front with a telescope, which was a nice touch. Room was beautifully decorated in various shades of blue. Large comfy bed and loads of space enough for 2 other z beds if you had children with you. Everything was really clean and you had a great selection of food for breakfast. Lots of people have said you can here noise from the local chippy, this was right under our window but we found it entertaining to watch the drunken life go by, very funny.
Would definitely return, it's such a central location.

Don't expect 4 Star for a standard room, as ours most definitely was not. Not worth the £145 price tag per night. Should have left and gone elsewhere.
1. The room had a pungent musty/mouldy smell which did not dissipate throughout our stay despite the window being open constantly (looking behind the radiator I found mould on the walls).
2. The décor of the room was dated.
3. The radiator had been painted and the paint was cracked and peeling.
4. There were dirty marks on every wall face.
5. Mould/Dirt was growing under the silicon at the base of the shower. Also, the pointing of the grout inside the shower looked like a cowboy builder had done it (just slapped on).
6. We couldn't get a decent nights sleep, as the bed/mattress ensured we Rolled-Together throughout the night.

Only Positive note - friendly staff & location

Room Tip: Check the room before you pay/check in. Shouldn't have to do this at a 4 Star hotel, but I would...
