I took my husband there on his birthday and we stayed in the KRAKEN'S LAIR .Its Brighton and atmosphair is great there, staff is friendly, the rooms are all have different themes. Totally enjoyed our experience and no doubt will be back at some point. Breakfast can be whealled in to your room so no need to get out which we thought was great. If we to put down any criticism it would be that not enough hot water and it all can do with updating (lose fixtures, crack on the window and general cleaningness) but we came there for different reasons,we came to party and it was great for that :-) If you looking for something different with the adult twist - look no further . Have fun!!
Thank you all at Pelirocco, will see you again!!

We pretty much took over the entirety of this hotel on the Friday evening before a good friends wedding, meaning I had the opportunity to explore a whole bunch of the zanily designed rooms and suites (including the gargantuan, strange, sexy Kraken Suite). It's not the Ritz by any stretch, but that would be missing the point. It's an incredible, fun hotel, extremely reflective of the quirky charms of Brighton and ideally located right on the waterfront.

Rooms all have great individual touches; we stayed in the Hunters Lodge, and whilst I was somewhat bemused to have a giant print of Ray Winstone in a forest, wearing fur, staring down at me from above the bed, I absolutely loved the Vinyl player. It was a bloody pleasure to listen to Frank Sinatra and Chuck Berry as we got ready for the wedding.

Given we'd taken most of the rooms, it almost at times felt like we were staying in someones giant house rather than a hotel, and I mean this in a good way. It was welcoming, charming, and we were effectively allowed to run riot until the wee hours. For those reasons alone it was well worth the money.

Would I stay there again? Absolutely. I just may ask Mr Winstone to avert his eyes as I sleep.

Room Tip: The Kraken Suite is batshit insane.

Loved it here. Only stayed one night but wish it had been longer. Really friendly folk and never overbearing. Lively bar with an excellent and eclectic soundtrack. We were treated to a wonderful vegan breakfast at very short notice. Will definitely come back and stay here again when we're next in the area.

You dont come here for 4 * or a concierge who carries your luggage, or room service (although you can get sex toys to your room and lube), instead you stay here for the themed rooms great late night bar and fun. I have stayed in the Diana Dors room, the knicker room and one other I cant remember which. I have tried to book the Betty Page leopard room several times its always booked (Its got handcuffs on the bed and stocks or something; it changes). The knicker room had a play station & my not very fashionable friend who came with me would rather have stayed in the Grand with its staid bar and generic rooms - same price as The Pelirocco, however. My not very fashionable friend arrived earlier than me and asked for a room 'to get his head down' and seeing his shiny loafers and pink polo shirt staff shoved him into the Leigh Bowery room - with pics of Leigh working in Macdonalds and the big M logo everwhere and macdonalds ashtrays. My NVFF not pleased when he couldnt get a whisky on room service but he could order all types of condom instead. However, The Pelirocco won him over and we had a great weekend in Brighton. The Pelirocco is really just a tarted up Victorian B&B but who cares. Have fun.

Room Tip: just look at the pics

We stayed in the Cloud Cuckoo Land room which is situated on the top floor, up the pretty narrow stairs! It was stunning. Beautiful views and gorgeous touches which made it quite unlike any other hotel I've ever stayed in. Free tea and coffee and Curly Wurlies. The bathroom only had a bath but it was fine. About a 10 minute walk to the city centre and 2 minutes from the beach. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There's a car park underground in the square but if you manage to find a spot on the street, it was free for a certain time period.

After purchasing the groupon deal, we booked the Diana Dors themed room for a Wednesday night stay. The evening before we were due to head down I received a phone call from the hotel to say that there would be some building work going on from 9am on the Thursday morning, and we were offered the options of taking a different room, changing our booking to a different date or receiving a free bottle of prosecco and a breakfast upgrade. We opted for the latter as we had already booked our trains; the prosecco was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious and the building work wasn't even particularly bothersome! The staff were lovely and very helpful and the room itself was fab, very quirky and we liked the random details we kept finding. The bed is amazing and extremely comfy, and the only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because of the bathroom. Although the theme didn't continue into the bathroom this didn't bother me, but the shower door was broken and the water was cold. So, brilliant for a 1 night stay, but in this room you might find showering difficult if you are staying longer.
