Amsterdam Hotel Brighton

this hotel is staffed by the most helpful and sincere staff I have ever encountered.!!......i have to follow a gluten ,egg and dairy free diet and within minutes of me checking in , Michael, who was on reception had gone over to the local supermarket and bought soya milk and gluten free cereal so i could have breakfast ! None of the large chain hotels had ever done this for me!....I also got loads of help with my substantial amount of luggage and the hotel was immaculately kept clean by the housekeeping staff who gave me new fluffy pillows for my neck problem!! the hotel is near to many lovely local cafes and restaurants with gardens tucked away at the back for a tranquil drink or lunch.
to comment on some of the other reviews I would say that in terms of price i stayed on a little publicised mid week offer which runs from sunday to `thursday for any three nights for £160.....in Brighton thats a bargain!! You will find that a Saturday is always full, expensive and noisy in any hotel in Brighton!! Remember it is not the hotel that always creates the noise but fellow clients who quite frankly need a lesson in hotel etiquette, particularly when arriving at .1.20am and banging doors loudly,.....yes you know who you are!!!!!!!

Room Tip: higher floors and side view are quietist, there is a lift....

We had an enjoyable stay at the Amsterdam - they were able to give us a room at the front of the hotel as requested - overlooking the Pier. The room was recently refurbished, and very clean. The shower area was a bit annoying, as there is no way to enclose the shower itself, so the entire 'wetroom' gets wet. The hotel were also very accommodating when we needed to change the date of our stay - and it didn't cost us anything extra.

Breakfast was included, and although we got there just as it was due to be closing, the staff were very happy to let us graze for a while, and checked with us before starting to pack everything away.

Pleasant stay, and would stay here again if visiting Brighton.

Room Tip: Just ask!

Stayed here for one night as everywhere else in Brighton was fully booked. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel public rooms are great. Continental breakfast was good too.
The room was clean, but really small. We paid a lot for this room, and I felt that in comparison with other bed and breakfasts nearby the Amsterdam just isn't the best value for money.
Having said this, everything else was fine........!

We stayed for just one night on a Saturday. Reviews said it was noisy but we slept all the way through just fine! The room was exceptionally clean, comfy bed and we liked the big shower room.

The room was quite small and price was high for a basic room but you will find that applies to all hotels in Brighton.

Location was excellent and the staff were all really friendly and helpful.

One thing to note is that they do not have their own parking (which was expected due to the great central location), but with this you must remember to get up early the next day to put another ticket on your car or you will get a fine!

Overall very nice - oh and breakfast was great!

Very clean hotel close to all main Brighton attractions. Friendly staff who gave excellent advice regarding things to see and do. We are a straight couple and the fact that the hotel is gay friendly an issue at all and our experience wasn't any different to any other hotel. Stayed on a Saturday night and noise from nightclub next door in the very early hours might be an issue if you are sensitive to noise. Continental breakfast only included in the B and B price, but we ate out anyway. Parking voucher supplied to park nearby.

All the seafront hotels in Brighton are both expensive and potentially noisy. Guests should know this but we stayed just one night which was a busy Saturday at the end of April. We had no trouble sleeping and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Very basic room hough for a lot of money.
We chatted to a cross dressing gent ( ??) who had an amazing knowledge of football!! Good fun and good company. Perhaps guests of our age ( over 60 ) need to be prepared for a culture shock but apart from one drunk, all the staff and guests were really good.

Room Tip: Do not expect luxury
