Charles,John(Jon) and the rest of the staff made me feel very welcome while on a Trade Union Confrence, The room was a seaview room and the the view was great right next to the Pier and the Brighton "Eye" the fresh sea air coming into my room. Room was very clean and food was cheap and the beers had a good selection. A EXCELLEN HOTEL FOR ALL, I would be more than happy to bring my young family to this Hotel. Simon, from Essex.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are brilliant.

Hotel is a typical seaside hotel of yesteryear which has been updated with all mod cons. We were fortunate enough to get a seaview and sun was shining during our 2 day stay. Breakfast was included - continental style - more than adequate. Typical English breakfast also available for an extra fee. Has lift, free wifi, tea and coffee making facilities. Our room had a large bathroom with shower area - no climbing into a bath for a change. Hotel located right on sea front with many quality restaurants close by and tiny character pubs. Supermarkets and laundromat also nearby. Car parking is in street - daily pass can be obtained from hotel - fee applies. A few minor housekeeping issues - phone did not work - being fixed. Towels were on the thin side

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions, and would never even consider booking into another Brighton hotel.

I have always booked a Sea View room, and have enjoyed pleasent views of Brighton Pier and some beautiful sun rises! (usually when im just getting in!)

The Hotel is central, right on the seafront and within a few minutes walk from everything Brighton has to offer. The rooms are of a good size (wouldn't want anything bigger), they are clean and have everything you could need for a weekend break. Including your own iron and ironing board!!

The bathrooms are in fact 'wet rooms' which work well, and plenty of fresh towels and standard toiletries are supplied.

The staff - Friendly, Welcoming, Polite. Perfect. You can ask them anything you like and they are happy to help and 'go that extra mile' for you.

In all, the only place i would stay in Brighton.

See you all again soon!

Room Tip: Sea View Rooms are well worth the money (especially top floor)

Nice clean room, excellent customer service. Couldn't have been more helpful and recommended lovely places to eat and things to do. It's very small - quite old and a bits iffy in parts but this just added to the charm. Good location by the sea and the wheel - short walk to the Pier and the lanes ( shopping) . There are nice little deli's and quirky little shops nearby to the hotel. It's an interesting area, quite run down in some ways but bohemian. Had a lovely stay and would come again.

To start with cliché - you get what you pay for with this hotel.

It's pretty good value for Brighton and is in a handy location if you want to be in central Brighton near the beach and pier (and that's a big "if", frankly). Service is very good from the friendly and helpful staff too.

However rooms are very dated and really showing their age, cleanliness is adequate but could be better, beds are not particularly comfortable, and the windows have to be open if it is warm but you can expect a lot of noise overnight as a result.

All things that are probably reasonable given the cost bracket this fits into and most likely better than most similar properties, but just be well aware of what you're getting and you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Allow time to get a park near the hotel. Double-park or something and call into reception to buy th...

This hotel is really well placed for the wheel, the pier and the town centre. The building itself is ok but what makes this a great place to stay is the wonderful staff and the surrounding life in the bars and on the sea front. If you want to go somewhere quiet for a good sound sleep then you need to steer clear of the seafront but if you enjoy people watching and plenty going on around you as you sip a glass of wine on a roomy balcony then this is the right spot for you. Pay an extra few quid and ask for room 10. It's a lovely room with a great big balcony over the bar and directly opposite the Sea Life Centre. We had a great night watching everyone else having a good time and it was all quite civilised. The following morning we enjoyed a hearty breakfast with lots of choice. The staff at the Amsterdam are all incredibly friendly and helpful and they are very knowledgable about the town so whatever you want to find they will happily point you in the right direction. Every one of them did their job with a smile on their faces when we stayed there and they really did make our stay an enjoyable one. I would recommend this place to anyone I know who was going to visit Brighton.

Room Tip: Ask for room 10!

I stayed here on the 18th of May also, I was an annoying customer who rung up to say we would be checking in late and changed the ETA a few times-each time I spoke to them they were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was a little tricky to find because the entrance is on the side of the building and the one-way systems around Brighton didnt really help! But inside it was cosy, comforting and clean. The hotel has pretty much everything you need for basics. I was a little worried because its right by the beach and I was afraid it might be hard to sleep with all the drunks on a friday night but I was surprised to find it wasnt so, which was good as it meant we could sleep soundly. The breakfast there was wonderful-it had a variety of options-cereal, pastries, scrambled egg, toast, smoked salmon, full english (although for some of these options you will have to pay a little bit of money). Overall it was a really good-what really amde it for me was how helpful and friendly and polite the staff were-no request was too much for them.
