We had a lovely stay at Blanch House.
We stayed in the Morroccan room which is up on the first floor at the back of the hotel and so is lovely and quiet even on the busy weekend. The room is nicely decorated and well maintained. Some finish items could do with a bit of tifying up (pump dispensers not working on soap, light bulb not functioning on one light) but these were insignificant. The room is lovely and spacious and while the furniture was in keeping with the room some of the pieces seemed an odd choice - a wine rack for the television table (which meant the plugs were almost impossible to reach) and a low tray table where it would have been nice to have a chair.
The bed was very comfy with good feather pillows and lots of luxurious silky throws - we slept really well (something that ought to be standard in a hotel but often isn't). I also really loved the Morroccan lampshade which gave out a lovely soft light through its coloured glass (though my husband thought the room a little dark). Lovely touches in the room included a good selection of tea bags, fresh biscuit supplies and a few local magazines.
We only got to sample breakfast on one morning, sadly, as we were meeting friends elsewhere in town. On the morning we ate we had a very good cooked to order breakfast plus plenty of cereals and pastries.
We'll definitely stay here on our next trip to Brighton - Blanch House is one of the only places I've stayed in Brighton where I can say that not only is it fairly priced, it's good value for money. Plus Kerry, Andrew and the team went out of their way to make us welcome and to make suggestions about places to go, as well as rustling up G&Ts and taxis equally quickly.
