“Little seafront gem”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

I love the fishing museum. Its a lovely little building with lots of intetesting artifacts to photograph and discover. Its free and is just a nice thing to do when walking along the sea front. They sell locally freshly caught fish next door which adds to the experiance. Its a nice part of the seafront. My favourite. Its not something youd plan to do especially to visit.but it is a really nice little treat when you are in the area.

“Take a look inside”
Reviewed 31 March 2013

This is a very small museum on the seafront. It's free to go in but there is a big container where you can make a donation just inside the door.

There is a display of old Punch & Judy puppets in a glass case & lots to read about how the show first became popular in seaside resorts.

There is very interesting film footage of days at Brighton seafront which was filmed over several decades so the museum is not just about fishing.

It's definitely worth spending a while in here if you are passing by.

“just browsing sea front”
Reviewed 5 February 2013

This place is so interesting. Continuous running old black and white videos showing the fishing in the area and with people talking. It was free and I would recommend to anyone even if you do not fish (I don't). I think there is a box for donations.

“Little local museum with some interesting info”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

Free to go in and quick to look around, right on the beach.
Worth looking in on your way passed.
Some local info and history info displayed if you want to learn a bit more.
I was in there just 15 mins.

“Interesting local history”
Reviewed 16 November 2012

The pictures and boats and exhibits were very intersting and I struggle to walk past the little seafood stalls that open alongside, as they cook prepare the fish. the museum itself is well maintained and the staff always happy to explain more but the exhibits speak for themselves, of a time when the beach was dominated by small fishing boats and fishing nets and the sea was full of fish. Nostalgic and a pleasant way to spend an hour.
