“Cold water and poor hygiene ”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 via mobile

This is the central pool for Brighton and should be a jewel in the crown.
Unfortunately it's nothing like that.
Entry point is efficient and friendly but that's the only positives.
The changing rooms are generally filthy with people walking in from the street with dirty shoes and walking in the same places as those that have just undressed and are now on way to pool. Unhygienic and unpleasant.
The clothes lockers have broken wristbands so you are unable to put the band around your wrist properly.
This situation has existed for months.
The pool area is old fashioned and often has cordoned lanes making the available areas cramped and unpleasant.
The water is far too cold compared to other pools.
The sauna and steam room are too small and filled with regulars who use it as a social club rather than the purpose intended.
At present there are works in progress which compound the dirt being carried on people's shoes into the actual pool area.
Avoid this place until it's rebuilt!!

“Horrible”
Reviewed 29 April 2013

It was so cold in the pool that I wasted 3 weeks out of a month's membership. Those few showers that work are often cold.

“Improvement needed!”
Reviewed 22 April 2013

Went swimming here today for the first times in months and the conditions have worsened. The changing room area was quite dirty and a good sweep round required, Many of the lockers were unusable as the wristbands were broken or missing completely. Some of the showers aren't working or shower heads were missing so just a jet of water sprayed out. The pool itself was pretty shabby. The water temperature is far too cold and people were visually shaking. The pool floor also needed a clean due to the amount of plasters, sanitary items etc all. Not a particularly pleasant experience for the cost of £4.20.

“Very filthy and very busy”
Reviewed 21 April 2013

It's dirty, disgusting and filthy for what it cost to get in - the pool look like never been check or clean daily. Very busy that I understand because it is a public pool. The staff should keep the complex cleanness and checking it all the time COS is a public pool busy all the times. It just fill like swimming in a bit bowl of GERMS.... The changing room lets not go there it will take the hold years to talk about it...

“Brace yourselves!!!”
Reviewed 11 November 2012

Its big and filthy, floors are not cleaned regularily, not all lockers or wrist bands are working. Broken showers.Gym is a size of a room. Steam room and sauna packed with people, insufficient space and number of chairs to rest inbetween the sessions. In changing room no private showers. Three working "private" showers for all the facility. Place with potential, but poorly managed and for quality of service- much overpriced. Challenge to your immune systems. Good to get exited about if you haven't seen a swimming complex before.Otherwise poor.
