Often seen the Chattri from a distance and talked about taking a walk in the summer to see it. Finally got the chance and picked a perfect summer's day. It's a long but fairly pleasant walk ( we took the longest route to avoid walking across the cow fields with the dog!) Once there, the monument is beautiful and lots of info to read ( very thought provoking and humbling). The view is stunning definately worth the walk but maybe not on a cold or rainy day.

A must for history buffs. This beautiful place is where the Indian soldiers who served in the first world war were cremated if they failed to survive after being cared for in the Pavillions war time hospital. The site looks towards the sea and maybe to home.

Standing on the South Downs this White Monument is worth the lovely walk over the downs to reach it.
