We ran into this restaurant - literally, out of the torrential rain - but what a find!
The staff were friendly & as this was a very wet monday evening, they had no problem finding a table for us.
As we looked around, it was strange to see lots of what can only be described as "opera box" style booths which gave a surreal feel to the restaurant, especially as they were on varying levels.
Our drinks came quickly whilst we looked over the menu & made our choices.
Once our order was taken, there was only a reasonable wait before our starters were served & it was whilst we enjoyed these that a young man in evening suit started to sing from table to table.
This was most unexpected but enjoyable & totally suited to the surroundings.
The young man's voice was pleasant & powerful but his recollection of the words of the songs was sometimes lacking although this only added to our enjoyment!
Our main courses arrived & were excellent & together with the starters, sated our appetites although we did enjoy a couple more drinks, taking in the singing & atmosphere.
Great find, great food. Allied to the quirky atmosphere & unexpected cabaret, we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant because or bill was surprisingly small.
We will return!
