What a find this was. Serving delightful food and coffee that keeps one coming back for more. A lovely family run establishment that bubbles with atmosphere and brims with character all brought together by the owners. The homemade food really is special and the coffee cannot be bettered. They also provide the perfect soundtrack to while away a day. I implore you to try it.

“One of Many Visits”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

This cafe has a quirky mix of locals and tourists and has some fab specials and amazing breakfasts.
If this is not enough home made cakes are wonderful.
Run by a lovely couple this is a must visit if going to Brighton(approx 4 miles from the centre)but just off the main road in to Brighton.
Soup,Lamb Hot Pot are home made and lovely.

“Superb venue with village feel”
Reviewed 23 October 2013

The Coach House is a fantastic place to feel at home, enter a community feeling. Ann and Dave a lovely couple introduce you to others and everyone knows one another in the end. The food is freshly prepared and of excellent standard, the cakes like no others baked by Ann. Had Eggs Royal and they were the best ever on this occasion. A lot of banter goes on and if you want a laugh, join in. I highly recommend this venue.

“A sactury for coffee lovers on the hinterlands of Brighton.”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 via mobile

Brightonians are spoilt for choice when it comes to good independent cafe's. Pick a stone from either Brighton or Hove's beach and fling it in land and you will be sure to smash a window of an exemplar establishment of which I speak. An embarrassment of riches, I wont waste your time with reviews of these fine caffeine purveyors preferring to direct your attentions to this quiet establishment hidden away on the most northerly quarter of Brighton's boundaries.

Situated off the London road the Coach house is ideal for either 'decompressing' upon re-entry into Brighton, or perhaps as a last hurrah to steady one self before leaving our epicurean paradise for McCostabucks motorway service station oblivion.
The coffee at the coach house cannot be overrated, whilst I'm a coffee addict who'd happily carry a caffeine drip, my partner is restricted to decaf for medical reasons and she also thinks this is the best coffee she has had by a country mile. As we've only visited for lunchtime soup and sandwiches we can only attest to the freshness of the ingredients (the cafe is next door to the local independent bakery) and the generous portions. The home made cakes are beyond reproach, but you need to get in early to sample the full selection as those friendly locals which other reviewers have commented on, certainly know which side their bread is buttered in this regard!

Service is welcoming and without artifice with that gentle touch of bonhomie only experienced in small community cafe's.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We dropped in for lunch and really enjoyed the food which was freshly prepared and tasted great. The service was friendly and we really enjoyed our visit. We also treated ourselves to a scone and some cake which was beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. Perhaps the décor could have been a bit smarter but the food was lovely and if we are in the area we will go back again. Highly recommended.
