“Premier Inn Customer Relations have no customer service skills whatsoever”
Reviewed 21 December 2009

Never got to the hotel due to snow conditions and advise by police not to travel. Premier Inn refused to re- imburse my room costs as it was on a special rate (Travel lodge wavered this for my brother the same day) and when i called Customer relations to complain, when i eventually got through i received the worst customer service i have encountered in a long time. Comments like 'well you got through now didn't you?' and 'i have aologised haven't i', said with attitue and no care or concern. Everything it seems is premier except the price and the staff! 1st and last time i will use.

Just back from a weekend in Brighton. This hotel was great value for money, ideal location for shopping, eating out and visiting the pier. The hotel allowed us to check in early as rooms were ready, stored luggage after we had checked out and all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. For a good value trip to Brighton, it would be hard to beat this hotel. Will definitely use again.

I booked this hotel for 1 night 27th November. I was impressed with the size of the double room and the standard of decor and cleanliness. I immediately tried to adjust the room temperature which didn't appear to be working but I gave it an hour to see if there was any difference. It was very cold that night and after about 2 hours I called reception to report the problem. They told me they would manually turn the heating on in my room and check the problem. Several phone calls later they came into my room to investigate the problem. He told me that the heating in my room was definitely not working and that there were a few rooms free, he would check the heating in them before moving me.
40 mins later I still had heard nothing so I rang reception again, he informed me that there appeared to be a problem with the heating in the whole hotel and all he could offer me was extra blankets. I immediately checked out and got a full refund.
I suspect that either a few rooms have faulty heating or there was some other problem with their whole heating system. It was nearly December a cold month and very inadequate heating. The reception staff were friendly but did not keep me informed well, I had to keep chasing them, I don't blame them they are probably fed up with all the complaints!
I will be writing to Premier Inn about this problem and would not reccomend staying there if you value warmth.

The Premier Inn is based on a busy street a short walk from the beach. The hotel itself was very clean and had a small restaurant. The rooms nice and airy and very comfortable and clean, and fantastic value for a central Brighton hotel!

A perfect base for staying in Brighton!

We visited Brighton a couple of weeks ago to see Michael McIntyre (who was brilliant!) & as we were driving needed a hotel that was in easy walking distance of the main town but with parking. The Premier Inn seemed to be the best option. Although it did not have a direct car park there was an NCP car park around the back which was reasonably priced & hotel guests then received a discount (I can't remember exactly - under £10 for 24hrs I think)
As we were only going to be in the room for a few hours to sleep (we went out as soon as we dumped our stuff) I was reluctant to spend alot of money on accomodation & some of the hotels in the area have the cheek to not only charge alot of money for basic room but then charge to use their car park. Anyway it's basic but clean with a good TV, kettle & shower. We had a room at the back so weren't botherred by noise but seeing as the hotel is in the main town then that has to be expected for some rooms I suppose. The staff seemed friendly & helpful & for the price it was a really good choice!

If this hotel was elsewhere it would be quite average but for Brighton it is quite good. Problems with Brighton hotels in summer are too much heat and noise and this doesn't have either. The corridors have security doors to stop the drunks coming on to your corridor, I suspect. Walking back to it late at night is not all that lovely and there is someone on the door for increased security. The price for Brighton is reasonable and location excellent. Breakfast was good and plentiful. A better bet than lots of the other mid range hotels in Brighton. At least you are getting a reliable brand.

This was the first of three Premier Inns we tried on our vacation in England, and the one we rated lowest. This does not mean that it was a bad hotel, but rather an average+.
The room was a little tired, but of fair size (for some reason we got a room suitable for wheelchairs). The staff was friendly and the location was good. Parking was not free, but there was parking within walking distance.
I would not mind coming back, but might try out another hotel next time (to compare).
