This review is slightly late, however we did learn that the HdV chain may not be accepting dogs, however that rule was overturned and I feel great submitting this review and recommending this hotel.

The hotel is in Brighton so has limited parking, its Brighton and its a city centre. We always park in the council operated car park round the corner as its the most secure and the cheapest.

The hotel is quirky in style, with a large bar, a nice lounge, and a lovely courtyard. Its well done, and the rooms don't disappoint. Some maybe on the smaller side, however are still perfect;y adequate. If you are a light sleeper or aren;t planning a night on the town, I'd alway recommend asking for a quiet (or non street facing room). That said the security to a good job keeping the noise that they can control to a minimum.

The thing that really sets this hotel apart from others in the same range in this staff. Simon runs an amazing team, all the team are very friendly and outgoing and above all else really want to try and make the stay great!

Yakuri and Lucy, James and the rest of the front house team go out of their way to help me and my mum.

The bistro staff are great and sometimes you see the same faces throughout the day, breakfast lunch and dinner they are always more than happy to help you select some great food and of course some amazing wine!

The bar has a great cocktail list, and the pub next door is a real gem for a more relaxed meal or drink.

We stayed most recently over Christmas, and while we always love Christmas at home this was a real treat. Simon the GM was on hand to wish everyone Merry Christmas and say hello. The service was excellent and the food was great.

It offer great value for money and I will return often!

We look forward to returning in March.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel and always go for a suite if you can.

A lovely weekend stay - quiet, lovely bar, spacious rooms and very central. Parking all sorted out - a must when in Brighton! Have a look, we like boutique hotels and this fitted the bill. Check in was a little slow but probably because we arrived early!

Stayed as part of package ( room at £45 as long as bistro spend more than £75) good range of equipment including Nespresso coffee machine plus wide range of teas. Comfortable bed and well lit room. Sound proofing may be a be problem as sounds carried from nearby crying baby but it not prevent a sound nights sleep. Very convenient for the sea and the Lanes

A few weekends back we stayed at Hotel Du Vin, Brighton, to give ourselves a little break out of the smoke, and we are so very glad we did, and even more chuffed we chose to do it here. The rooms are superb, and the bed is extremely comfy, and therefore hard to get out of! The bar is quality, with amazing cocktails, and is plenty good enough for a night out of it's own, but if you're after something more earthy the Pub Du Vin adjoined is excellent too. We ate in the restaurant on one of the nights, and I have to say the food is brilliant, and the wine, which you would expect, of the highest quality. We are getting married in Bordeaux this summer so challenged the sommelier to find us something nice from the area, and he did not fail to disappoint. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, especially in their own specialist areas from the waitors; to the sommeliers; to the mixologist; to the chap who made a mean cappuccino. All in all, a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to return.

Stayed last Saturday night to visit a friend who lives in Brighton , she recommended the hotel to us as she knows the sort of place we like to stay in.
Bit tricky to find the place we knew that is was just off the front and could see it from the seafront road but had to navigate around the one way system, but having found it there was plenty of room in the lay by to unload. We didn't use the NCP car park they recommend but the more expensive underground car park just round the corner, which was very secure.
Good service from reception who showed us to our suite that was located at the rear of the building which we prefer as having experienced how noisy Brighton can be on a Saturday night ,so this was a bonus. Lovely large room , comfortable bed , lounge area , free standing bath in the room and separate rain fall shower and toilet . Good quality toiletries and complimentary tea and coffee with nespesso maker ( no bisciuts though).
Met our friend in the bar then had a meal at the Bistro which was very nice, but tables to close together and they were packed.
Didn't have breakfast as we met up with our friend and had an excellant brunch at the View in Hove.
All in all a good stay although it was relatively short, we arrived at 3pm and left at 10am, it was quite an expensive night but we don't mind that as you get the quality you expect, would use again.

Room Tip: If you like a good nights sleep stay away from rooms at the front !

We literally got swept by winds inside. After our previous booking at a nearby hotel failed at check in and decide to walk out, me and my boyfriend got to this amazing hotel. We had a warm and friendly welcome by Stephany, the reception manager, there were rooms available and she immediately got us sorted out and showed us up to our room, Hammerpot i believe. The 2 glasses of champagne to relax us after finding about our previous experience, and drenched from the weather, very nice touch. Huge bath tub essential for our trip, and you could even sea the sea if you poke your head out the window look to the right and even get a nice refreshing breeze, just beautiful. Very clean, quiet, spacious and warm room, very comfy bed. The hotels bar could not be more accomodating, lovely decor. Great location everything you want really at your doorstep. We just had an amazing experience, we can not wait to come back and get to see more. When we thought our romantic getaway was ruined Hotel du vin and Stephany came to the rescue, we can not thank you enough, and looking forward in seeing you again. We found our home in Brighton.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in the Lanes conservation area, a pebbles' throw from the seafront. Its 49 bedrooms are housed in a collection of eccentric Gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among many interesting features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar and Laroche tasting room. The perfect venue for a picturesque wedding or party is the impressively large and airy Dome room. For the best tankered of local ale, Pub du Vin is one of Brighton city center's treasures with its classic pub dining. Out with the Brighton hotel is the wonder and inspiring town itself, with quaint streets dotted with fabulous shops, and of course the famous pier and promenade. ... more   less
