It's a hard comparison, I've been to the best, Vegas, Atlantic City, Monte Carlo…. But for a small, local casino, my husband and I had a good time, for about 2 hours, then we were done. If it had more blackjack tables and better more personable dealers, we would have been willing to risk a lot more. As it was, we took our £50 in winnings over 2 hours and went to dinner.
It was close to our hotel, so we gave it a shot. Walked over, signed up for players cards and went upstairs to the main casino. Slots were confusing and bad. Very little to choose from and nothing we were familiar with. Played for about 15 minutes and had no fun.
Got our free drinks, and checked out the tables. Blackjack is our game, only one table going? £2 minimum a hand, but also had 2 other areas to place bets above the blackjack hand, that you could win off the first dealers card and your first two cards. Everyone else seemed into it and bet heavy, none won, and I could not figure it out. Never seen it before. Wish the dealer or pit boss would have offered or asked.
Most at the table could pal, except for one guy. So hubby and I ordered appetizers and left the table as we heard another would open in a few minutes. Plus this guy was jiggling his chips so loudly it was getting on all our nerves.
The players menu was nice! I had a prawn salad, my husband a hotdog. They serve you at the table with a low table. Very nice touch. Prices were good. Drinks expensive. Did not check out restaurant menu, but looked decent.
Got a new table £5 minimum with a great personable dealer, the others were very sour indeed. Hey, I don't mind losing my money to someone with a sense of humor! So we played with her, won a bit and had to leave for a dinner reservation.
The have sister casinos in London where we live, so we will give them a try. We like to gamble a bit. Will probable even go back when we visit Brighton again. We just have a better time when a casino hires for customer service and personality. The idea is to have such a good time, you don't care how much you lose and you also lose track of time.
