“Great location and relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

Stayed 21 / 22 July 2003 for a family function held in the hotel. The staff were wonderful friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble, with two disabled people in my party they went out of their way to ensure a relaxed and happy couple of days. The catering for the function was magnificent with a hot buffet, BBQ style, that was to die for. Trust me you have not had honey marinated ribs like these, yummy. Breakfast was on the terrace overlooking the marina, again very good food and service. We had inland facing rooms that did not have AC but a fan in the room was sufficient to keep us cool. The modern décor means no wardrobe, but the hanging hooks with smart clothes hangers were fine. A fridge was the only thing we missed.
The hotel is located above the boardwalk alongside the marina. A vibrant area with lots of bars and restaurants and a host of water-sport / boat trip facilities, but we did not hear a thing in the rooms and had a good nights sleep in comfortable beds. Parking is a big problem in Brighton and access to car parks in the town centre was at a premium, over £20 per night. Not so at the Seattle where parking in the nearby multi-storey car park was free of charge. It is a bit of a trek for disabled people but there is a bridge from level 6 east (blue badge bays) to the boardwalk and from there to the hotel lifts. Overall good value for money, we had a great function, a great nights sleep and enjoyed the relaxation and friendly & helpful staff. We will head here again when next in town to see our relatives.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the marina are more expensive but give a great view and a balcony.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel on Friday 19th July. Unfortunately there was only availability for one night as we would have liked to have stayed the Saturday as well.

The hotel has a very calm, relaxed vibe, neutral colours with a nautical yet modern feel. We had an inland view superior room. Was a great size, loved the ipod docking station and the bathroom was lovely. No air con but a great big fan that does the job. Mood lighting in the room is fab, a large floor lamp creates a great atmosphere of an evening. I'm sure a marina view would have been great but this suited us just fine.

We had al fresco breakfast on the terrace, continental and full English on offer. We didn't eat in the restaurant of an evening so I can't comment on that.

The reception staff were very friendly, smiley and helpful which always makes a difference to wherever you stay. They extended our checkout and let us leave our bags there for the day whilst we explored Brighton on the Saturday.

The only negative or shall I say niggles, are that the seagulls like to land on the roof so there is a lot of tapping and in the morning this can be quite annoying - not sure why they don't have netting put up to prevent this? Also the wind howls through and is very loud in the rooms. A few nicks in the wall needed a freshen up or a lick of paint but this did not marr our stay or our view of the hotel as a whole.

Great value for money as all the other hotel we looked at staying were much more expensive and some didn't even include breakfast! We would definitely stay again and recommend to all who want a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Brighton.

We selected this hotel for a weekend away because it had free parking, as in Brighton this is a plus; we are so pleased that we selected the hotel as the location is outstanding. We did not have a marina view which although this is a shame we did not spend enough time in the hotel room to care. The rooms are basic but clean and bright, not easy to hang clothes as in our room there was just a metal bar next to the tv but this was OK for 2 nights. Sitting in the bar, either outside looking over the marina or inside sitting on one of the many retro styled sofas, is very relaxing as are the cocktails (very nice). The setting for breakfast is also lovely and once again you can sit on a balcony overlooking the marina and soaking up the morning atmosphere with a very nice breakfast. The only negative point is that the service at breakfast is very poor and tea/coffee and toast took over 20 minutes on both mornings; the buffet was nice but would be better with a cuppa, so hopefully it was just a weekend glitch. ignoring the breakfast, we will definitely return.

This is a cool hotel with great views across the marina. On a hot July weekend Brighton can be an unbearably crowded place and taking the Volt railway back along the beach to the Seattle came as a relief.
Modern and artistic though the hotel is, the rooms are small and lacked AC and a fridge, both of which we could have done with as the temperature was into the 30s. But our room did lead to he terrace where we could cool down. We had to leave the door and window open at night which meant our sleep was disturbed by guests closeby who must have fallen asleep with their tv on. It was switched off about 4.30 in the morning.
So not a lot of room space, no wardrobe and a toilet so small that multi taskers like myself couldn't have read a kindle let alone a broadsheet while going through the ablutions.
Breakfast was ok though no egg alternatives to scrambled were offered and I had to wait for both beans and bacons. However, they compensated through sauce in big bottles, including Tabasco.
Great location, nice decor but small rooms. Beneath the hotel is Zizzi, Cafe Rouge, Nandos etc.

We stayed for 1 night with our 15 month old, parking was a bit confusing as it is in a separate multi storey and a bit of a walk especially with all the things you bring for a toddler!!

The reception staff were helpful and the room itself was nice and clean, the travel cot supplied had quite a few stains so I had to get the anti bacterial wipes out!

The view from the room was of the marina which was very nice and we had a shared balcony which was fine.

We had breakfast in the morning which was very disappointing, the cooked breakfast wasn't great and the highchair for our daughter was filthy!

Service from staff was good and style and look of hotel is nice but breakfast and cleanliness for children really let's it down.

The room over looking the marina is well worth the extra . The view in the morning when you wake up is truly amazing the
Breakfast was great fresh fruit ,pastries ,and then a cooked English just to set you up for the day .

I took my partner away for his birthday for 2 nights in this hotel. We had a Marina view double room. It was lovely, clean and comfortable. Free parking a hundred metres away in the multi storey. Added bonus was an ipad docking station we could listen to our music. We were very lucky with the weather and the setting was perfect. If you want to eat in the hotel book early we missed out. The breakfasts were plentiful and a fair amount of choice. We ate the first night in the Brasserie in the square, I will review separately. The next morning we caught a bus into Brighton, so quick and easy. £4.60 return. You have to try 'Bills' the food was brilliant, I will review. Second night we ate at Prezzo with friends, again I will review separately. My overall impression of the hotel was very good and the staff were very polite and friendly. I would definitely use this hotel again.
