“Excellent hotel, room slightly disappointing”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

I stayed in the hotel on business, I had the pleasure of working with a couple of colleagues in the bar all day. The hotel is in a great location with half the rooms, the bar, the restraunt and meeting rooms over looking the Marina and out to sea. Each of the marina facing rooms has a small balcony that you can stand on. Around the hotel are several restraunts and loads of shops including a 24 hour ASDA, Indian Restraunt, Pizza Express, Chinese, Nando's, Subway, Mc Donalds, an American Bar and loads of boutique shops.

The public areas in the hotel are really well presented and clean, it's a nice place to be and the bar was a relaxed and comfortable area with a terrance overlooking the Marina. The staff were very friendly and the poor barmaid who look afterwards late in the evening did a brilliant job.

After spending time in the hotel I was a liitle disappointed when I went to my room. The room was fairly small, from what my colleague told me we worked out that the rooms facing the Marina were quite a bit smaller than the rooms facing in land. The bathroom was nice with a bath and shower, very clean and the towels were excellent. The Bed was very comfortable, a good TV and a B&W stereo if you have an Appley device, no good for me. The main thing that put me off the room was the strange racks that held the TV, acted as a table and you hung your clothes on. They looked horrible, more in line with a Formula 1 or Premier class than a hotel this good. I'm sure they could refit the rooms with more appropriate storage etc. Some of my colleagues complained about it being hot in their rooms, I didn't notice this so can't comment.

The breakfast was great, good options and very good service.

The hotel also has free Wifi (always Welcome). All in all I spent over 24 hours in the hotel, ate a very nice lunch in the bar and had a fun evening. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed recently, my wife and I agree it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in for years. Would recommend it to anyone. view was straight over the Marina. Very quiet, plenty of transport into town. The staff were very friendly and polite. We WILL be going back

A lovely hotel sitting right the Marina. This hotel is in a stunning location with every shop and eatery you can imagine. The hotel itself is a comfortable place to stay but the rooms are a little updated know and could do with a refresh.
The restaurant / breakfast room is basic and i thought it would have been something a bit more special (seems a wasted space with the view).

Oh and the hotel room was very very warm, i tried turning the radiator down and opening the window but the heat just didn't drop.

We've just returned home after one night at this hotel. I'm going to stick to facts so that you can make your own minds up and not rely on my opinion. We paid £160 for a double room with an inland view.
The room was pretty standard hotel size but did not have wardrobes, just hanging hooks next the TV. This wasn't an issue for one night.
The windowsill was tired and marked, there were cobwebs in the window and there was a stain on the carpet next to the bed. After a pretty rubbish journey we were starving and couldn't be bothered with changing rooms, we should have!.
The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms. We did not have aircon and it was so hot at night we had both windows open and the fan on full!
The next morning as we were packing we noticed there was rubbish left under the bed and "stains" on the bathroom door.
At breakfast the front of house was very attentive but my wife's breakfast was cold and had to be sent back, this took 20 mins to replace. It's a nice dining room overlooking the marina but there was no option to sit outside despite it being quite warm. The waiting staff were very friendly but it's not a good image to wear a uniform and have Ugg boots on!
Breakfast was the final straw and uncharacteristically we complained. The receptionist tried to fob us off with "We don't usually get house keeping complaints" which of course was annoying as she was intimating that we had made it all up! therefore, we asked for the duty manager.
Nicki, The duty manager, was lovely and accepted all of our points and gave us a 25% discount, in hindsight I wish we'd of made a fuss and pushed for more, but getting money back wasn't the purpose of the complaint. She also said they would make a fuss of us next time we visited, if I'm honest after last nights experience that is very unlikely to happen.

Another thing the receptionist failed to mention when we checked in. Don't park on levels 8 or 9 in the car park on a Saturday due to the car boot sale on the Sunday. Level 9 is quite well signposted to this fact but you have to really look on level 8. We only found out by hearing another couple being booked in whilst we were waiting for a cab. This meant a mad dash to move the car and us being late.

Room Tip: Get a room with air con.

We stayed at The Seattle Hotel 15 sept for a short break of three days and found it to be a little gem , staff very polite and breakfast very good. Thankyou to Amy our waitress at breakfast for your pleasant and efficient service . The weather for our break wasnt very good but the hotel made up for it with its warm and very comfy beds. Great bathrooms with large shower heads and lovely fluffy white towels. Free parking an added bonus we would most definatley stay again when back in Brighton. Our thanks to all the staff

Room Tip: We stayed in the rooms facing inland and found them to be very quiet at night

Had a 2 night romantic break here. Lovely modern hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and very clean. It had patio doors which opened out onto a large shared veranda which overlooked the Marina. The deck chairs were a bit shabby but it was a relaxing space. The hotel bar had a lovely balcony to sit on and watch the boats come and go. The cocktails were good. The restaurant was comfortable and spacious and the food was excellent. It got very busy at breakfast and we had a long wait for our cooked breakfast but we weren't in a hurry and it was worth the wait. It was lovely to be away from the busy centre of Brighton. It took less than 30 minutes to walk into Brighton and we got the train back which was fun. We would definitely like to come here again if we ever have a child free weekend again!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the same floor as reception to get the veranda.

Great location, lovely views from the balcony of our room and freshly cooked breakfast in the bright, airy dining room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay (wanted to extend but couldn't as it was fully booked) and hope to return.

Room Tip: Rooms with private balcony offers better view of the marina
