“Very good hotol”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

We booked this hotel a bit last minute during half term and got a superior king and a standard double. Hotel was clean, in good location as the bus to Brighton was every 10 minutes and we got free parking. Having never been to Brighton before, we were advised to make sure we got a place that had parking. Our superior room was lovely with a view over the marina and lovely balcony but our teenage boys had the standard double which had a view over Asda - but you get what you pay for!! All in all a good location, would recommend as we were within a good distance of Brighton but without the noise of the town.

The hotel is located right by the water front and offers great views of the marina. The style of the hotel is modern with quirky pictures and paintings on the wall. Something different than your average grey and black slate hotel lobby. The check in area is very informal, you take a seat as if you were in a travel agency, let's say. The process was swift and very courteous. The corridors have a clean and nautical feel, with subtle lighting. Our room was clean and tidy, with a modern feel. There was tea and coffee facilities, complete with cookies. A nice touch. Bathrooms were heated and a rain shower head provided a hot, refreshing wake up! Breakfast was excellent and very tasty. There were just two areas for improvement to this already excellent hotel. There were a few signs of ware and tear to the property, with some corners looking their age. This was only noticeable due to the style of property. Secondly, the breakfast service on the second day seemed less organised that the day before. It seemed slightly chaotic at times, but it did not distract from the fact we had a super meal that morning.

We stayed only one night (Saturday) on a spur of the moment booking to get away from the busy London life. We booked the king room with seaview and it was right by the Marina - Sunday morning was amazing, no clouds in the sky and just blue (and boats lol) ahead of us. Was a bit pricey for one night (although it IS a four star hotel) but we also booked last minute.
Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, not that much on the buffet, we ordered toasts arrived 20 mins later to the table - and COLD - not what I am expecting from a 4 star hotel.

Book a sea view room - it is VERY spacious, nice minimal decor, and great view!

Stayed here on my fiancé's birthday - we had a king size room on the top floor facing the marina as I had requested - it was lovely- very modern and all the little extras in the room really helped make it a nice stay. Free parking is a bonus.

We had a slight issue during our stay, so we went to reception to mention it and the manager could not do enough to rectify it - really good service and we will be returning next time we visit Brighton.

Room Tip: Our king size marina view room on the top floor was lovely

Stayed here one night. The room was clean but definitely approaching a spruce up as there were areas of peeling paint. Breakfast was excellent. The bus into Brighton stops right outside and take 15-20 mins and arrive very regularly. There is free parking local to the hotel. Great location to be in Brighton but not in the centre.

Stayed here two nights and enjoyed the view. Outside room to large seating terrace, which was lovely, bit outside my door loads if ciggy ends, they should clear this daily, they were even in the plant pots !! Only grievance of room was no wardrobe just a couple of hangers on stand. Breakfast was good in nice restaurant. I would stay there again.

We paid £150 per night for a room that wasn't worth it. The hotel is nice enough in a good position but our room was not worth what we had paid. We had paid extra to have a marina view but the balcony was so tiny that we could just about fit one person on at a time to enjoy the view! The room itself was a bit grubby (stains on carpet and headboard) and in general looking very tired. As we stayed two nights on the first morning we had a knock on the door at 8.30am from a housekeeper wanting to clean the room and was a bit rude when I asked if they could come back later. I don't know what the rush was as when we returned to our room later that day the room had not been cleaned properly with used glasses being left in the room. Breakfast wasn't that great and in general you would expect more from a hotel charging this amount.
