“A lovely Tardis”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

The hotel didn't look very big from the outside but once inside it was a different story! A lovely 'chilled' lounge area, and decks to sit out on to either have a drink or meal. The décor was a very cool white, and the bedroom was spotless and had everything that I needed - including a very comfortable bed. Parking was easy, just a short walk along the boardwalk.
The staff were great and extremely helpful, and the chap behind the bar makes an excellent White Russian! Would certainly go back again.

We stayed here mid week and found it fairly easy to find. Free car parking in the multi storey, next door, which is always a bonus! Check- in was very straight forward asked for a sea view room, but non available, but when I checked on line their was availability !
The hotel had a welcoming reception area, lots of comfy seating and with a lovely bar and an outdoor area looking over the marina. We had pre dinner drinks enjoying the sunshine and soaking up the views!
The rooms are not huge but adequate, TV, I-pod speaker, a strange hanging system - a pole with a few hangers on!, tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom clean but not huge, nice towels and toiletries with a over the head shower. The bed was very comfy with clean white bed linen.
There were lots of high street chain restaurants all at the marina, but we wanted something slightly different, so we went into town and ate a Brasserie in the Lanes.
Our room was at the back of the hotel, all was quiet and peaceful but our room did not have A/C and so we just had a little table top fan, we were almost cooked alive!!
Breakfast was lovely, super service, lovely food and plenty tea and coffee. A selection of newspapers to read, so an enjoyable experience over looking the marina.
Would we go back, yes I think we would but with sea view and balcony!

Room Tip: Sea View with balcony

There was a stained valance on the bed, no wardrobe, just a hanging rail and the balcony which we had to share was very small and afforded no privacy, in general the hotel is also looking past it's best.
Add to that the walls must be paper thin as we could hear the couple next door talking, their TV and their love making! Better double glazing would have also helped reduce the outside noise. Never again.

Room Tip: If wanting a sea view with a balcony specify not shared.

We have stayed here many times and find the convenience of it's location and the quality of service and rooms excellent. We can have the boat moored just 50 metres away and look out of the window and see it. Lovely terrace for lunch and breakfast

Room Tip: Rooms with marina view recommended

The welcome & service by staff is excellent. They answered our every query & dealt with a noise complaint swiftly & efficiently. The common areas are very good & there is a bar with outdoor deck. The rooms are compact & have a tiny balcony. Our room faced the marina & had nice views. The room & en suite were spotless & nicely presented. We had a lovely stay. The hotel has a no party & noise policy but I think this could be made more prominent so that hotel guests are all aware of it.Good bus service into town, drops off in front of hotel. Highly recommended.

This hotel is quirky in a good way. Everything is pure white and the room furniture is "interesting" (the wardrobe was a vertical pole with a horizontal rod to hold a few clothes hangers and a high shelf that you couldn't use because it was too high).

The bathroom suffered the very common problem in hotels these days of not having any useful shelf space but the fluffy towels were to die for and the shower was excellent.

The bar food was excellent and the breakfast was first class, particularly the croissants and pastries. We had a continental but the cooked breakfast looked yummy.

For dinner, we only wanted a single course but the restaurant staff told us they only served two-course or three-course (with Prosecco) meals. The staff apologised but no-one had the gumption to tell us we could get a single course meal in the bar, which we discovered ourselves (fortunately).

The signage for the hotel is poor and we got lost wheeling our luggage from the car park to the hotel!

These criticisms are minor and didn't detract from the overall experience.

One massive benefit is the location of the hotel. It's 2 miles out of Brighton but there is a bus every 7 minutes into town so you get the benefits of Brighton itself with free parking (and free bus if you're the right age, like us!)

All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel as the place to stay in Brighton.

Room Tip: Pick inland facing king room as the Marina facing are also facing all the Restaurants. Ask for a/c r...
