Another one night stay but most enjoyable. This time I had room 221 on the side of the hotel with a side sea view. A table and chair in the bay was much appreciated as I did my work looking out to sea. The radiator didnt work at first but after a bit of fiddling threw out an amazing amount of heat. The shower room here is very small. It didnt bother me at all but some would mind - especailly as this is one of their superior doubles. I have stayed in about a dozen rooms in this hotel and they are all very different in size - so if you dont like your room do ask to see another. The staff at breakfast are very good indeed.

I stayed here with my husband for one night in November 2011. Best Westerns are always reliable and ensure a minimum standard of service. This hotel is ideally situated and our superior double room had a beautiful view of the sea. The furnishings looked new and there was ample space. There was a lot of traffic noise during the night but then we did have a window open. The 2 single beds were comfortable and very close together in the European style. Only one of the 3 windows opened but a fan was provided, something we have not come across before. We did find the [spotless, white] duvets to be too warm but this is personal. The bathroom was clean with good rough towels, which we like. Breakfast was included in the price [we booked a B&B rate] and we ate it at a table overlooking the sea. Service was prompt and polite and the choice excellent and nicely presented.
Our only complaint was that the lift was out of order, but the receptionist offered to carry the bags up for us as we were on the second floor. Unfortunately our one light bag was not the problem...our 80 year old legs were! This said, we enjoyed our stay and shall certainly return, by which time we would expect the lift to be in working order.

Room was small. The single rickety lift was out of order for part of the stay which was inconvenient for those on the upper floors.

Breakfast was really rather good. Fresh fruit and greek yoghurt was delicious. Didn't try the traditional breakfast. Nice big windows in the breakfast room over the promenade and the garden square to the side.

Good location for a reasonable price but certainly not a great hotel.

Most enjoyable 5 nights at this well positioned hotel where we received a warm welcome from the trainee receptionist Barbara .We found nothing too much trouble for the staff we came across. Our top floor double room was a good size as was the bathroom, shower only. The small double our daughter had was fine for her but would have been too small for two so travellers should check before they book. Our included breakfast was cooked to order and the menu was varied with fish, pancakes with fruit and yogurt ,as options.

Room Tip: Check position of room as there are a number of stairs if not near the lift. There is traffic noise a...

Reception/bar area very modern with good sea view. Annoying radio playing loudly in bar most of the time during stay.
Room small, opted for rear as partner had stayed before and felt front, whilst having great views can be noisy despite so called double glazing. Modernised in light beech, comfy bed, warm duvet, clean towels every day. Bedside lights didn’t work and trap in sink was faulty – reported to reception and was made to feel like an idiot as receptionist suggested showing us how to use trap. Anyway, all sorted when we returned later.
Archaic key system preventing us from having a key each.
Bathroom small for my liking and partner showering caught door which opened causing flood of water into bedroom.
Overall typical Best Western, average but lacking overall style.

Room Tip: Decide whether you want sea view with some traffic noise or quiet with view at the back

This hotel is in a great location on the seafront and my sea-view room had a great view.
Sadly, that was really the one and only highlight.
The cracked window frame was only the start of it... dingy lights, dark curtains and dated furniture.
Plus the room I had was so small, it was terrible.
Yes, its cheap and if you just want a base near the beach its fine - but don't expect any luxury.

I stayed here before. I knew it was a 3 Star, and I got a good rate - paying only £29 for the night. This incl breakfast. The room was clean. Breakfast the next morning was standard, as was expected. Not sure why the people on previous posts complained. They probably complain for the sake of complaining, becuase they are born to complain.
I got what I paid for and expected what I got. For me this was a good inn and I would be happy to come back.

If you want 5 star suites and services honey, then find a 5 star hotel and pay the 5 star rates!!

The Brighton Hotel - The Grade II listed Brighton Hotel is one of the most charming hotels in Brighton where you are guaranteed a warm and personal welcome. It is located on the seafront directly opposite the famous Brighton Bandstand and very close to the West Pier and to the site of the proposed i360 attraction. We are just a short walk to Brighton's main shopping areas, the famous Lanes with its cobbled passage ways and its myriad of little shops and boutiques, many of which are unique to Brighton. The Brighton Conference Centre is a five minute stroll away and we are literally a stone's throw from the beach. The Brighton Hotel is a privately owned independent hotel that is large enough to have all the faculties you would expect but small enough to make you feel important to us and special. The hotel's elegant lounge, bar and restaurant have enviable sea views, a great place to relax and watch the world go by. The hotel has 55 well-appointed rooms, and while the hotel is right on the famous Brighton seafront it is just far enough out of the main centre's noisy bars and clubs to be significantly quieter than many other seafront Brighton hotels. High speed wireless internet access is available free of charge in all our rooms and public areas. As a 3 Star accredited hotel we offer dinner in The Salisbury Restaurant available 7 days a week from 6.30pm till 9.30pm and our Lite Bite Bar Menu is available 7 days a week 24 hrs a day.
