We chose this charming Alice in Wonderland themed cottage, because of its convenient location and its artistic quirkiness. We were not disappointed.

The owner kept us informed at every stage prior to our visit and had clearly thought of our every need during our stay.

The house is so, so cute and just when you think you have got it all sussed, it reveals yet another surprise. Our favourite was the miniature door and knocker under the stairs!

Although there was only one bathroom, it wasn't a problem as all bedrooms have a sink and there is an additional toilet downstairs.... although there were only 3 of us.

A fabulous holiday retreat - will recommend to all!

Top tip: The stairs are steep and narrow, so my friends on the second floor took their cases downstairs empty and packed them in the lounge. Wish I'd have thought of that ;))

Liked best: Its uniqueness and charming eccentricity
Liked least: The upper bedrooms were quite small, but all had been done to address this as much as physically possible.

“The perfect cottage for a Disney loving princess!”

I came to looking glass cottage for my hen weekend in Brighton! After hours and hours of searching for a location to stay I decided on looking glass cottage as it was unlike anything else I have ever seen!

Upon arrival the 8 of us just ran around oohing and aahing at anything and everything! It's full of magical little nooks and crannies. It has been designed with such perfection, it really made our stay magical.

We could not have asked for a better location either, 1 minute walk from the beach and a minute walk into the lanes, less than 5 minutes from choccywoccydoodah, we were in paradise!!!

The oly negatives are the bar emptying bottles into bins in the early hours, but we were on a hen sleeping was cheating! Also we didn't realise the was no dining area (our stupidity) so we struggled with our mad hatters tea party's!

Other than that, it was just amazing! Loved it! A hen to remember!

“Perfect Place for a Hen Weekend”
Reviewed 23 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This is a really cute cottage, and perfectly located for our classy, vintage themed hen party.
So many tiny details, making the cottage really fun.

The decoration and cuteness of the property also matches the cosiness of the property,. We had six in our group, and it was just the right size. If you are thinking about using the sofa beds, you would need to carefully think who would be happy in them, as it is rather cosy.

Its really well located, we based ourselves around the beach (we had fantastic weather) and the lanes.

We kept our hen costs by being able to walk everywhere, no taxi costs. We also did a picnic on the beach and then fish and chips in the evening. (All tea, coffee and cleaning bits are provided) The catering facilities are basic, but suitable for basic meals. We were also able to have lots of pre drinks before going out on a night out and only went to two bars mainly for dancing, as the bars and clubs are so close. (perfect if anyone needs to head home early)

The only thing that bugged me was the nosiy seagulls, but that's Brightons fault - Jacqueline provides earplugs!

Jacqueline, is also really organised and really helpful, and you tell she puts a lot of thought into here guests.

This is perfect for hens, I would say that the low points of this property have been cleverly twisted so they are a highlight - the outside toilet is the best feature! The property is cosy rather than small, and the location is in the noise, so you need to go out and enjoy with everyone, but you don't mind as its so close!

I would only go here as a party property, not for a relaxing break! Perfect for classy hens!

“I felt just like Alice”

This is a quirky and beautifully presented cottage right in the heart of the old centre of Brighton. We were a group of four, so didn't test the sofa beds in the sitting room, but the 'real beds' were very comfortable indeed.
We loved the thoughtful little decorations, such as the rabbit with his ruff and stopwatch in an alcove, and the teapot tap in the outside loo!
Being in the heart of the city inevitably means 'city noises' but Jacqueline has provided foam earplugs for those who might find it a little too loud. We didn't need them, so maybe the sea air, and all the exploring of the Lanes and North Laine area works as a sedative?
There are masses of nearby restaurants (within a five minute walk) so even though there is a mini kitchen, we barely needed to use it. There is a cafe in Duke's Lane called TFI which does a fantastic Full English breakfast for under £7, and opens at 7.30am. If you want to eat around 8pm, I'd advise booking at most, as they are all very popular. 'Jamie's Italian' is about three doors away, Gars is lovely but pricey for Chinese, and there are three pubs which do food within yards of the front door. Most high street staples have a presence in the area too.

As we had come to explore and shop, but not cook, this was the perfect location.

Brighton seafront is no more than 100 yards from the front door, with the Pier about 250yards.

I booked this place for my best friends suprise Hen Party and we couldn't have loved it more. Everywhere you look there are more suprise features waiting for you, nothing has been left out. The bedrooms were all so cozy and the beds were very comfortable too. The bathroom was a great size for a property of this age too and the addition of the extra toilet downstairs was great, not to mention the teapot tap, genius!!! The small terrace is a well utilised space and a perfect sun trap (When the sun comes out!)
The location is perfect too a stones throw away from the beach and wonderful restaurants and shops of The Lanes.
Overall I would say that everyone should visit The Looking Glass Cottage to experience it's charm for themselves, it really is one of a kind.
