The decor is stylish and modern and beautifully lit with a relaxing atmosphere. Each course was absolutely superb with creative and beautifully presented dishes including a fabulous lobster, monkfish goujons and exquisite deserts. Flawless service from helpful and knowledgeable staff. Excellent value for money.

We ate here last Friday and we were not disappointed. We had a beautiful sea view table and chose fish soup (delicious) and the smoked salmon with brown bread ice cream - this was rather innovative but worked really well. We then had the crab and thai fish curry. The former was fabulous, the portion size was huge and the crab fresh and succulent. The curry was not too spicy and beautifully presented with the included side dishes. The service was excellent and we felt really pampered and spoilt. Well done to head chef Alan and his staff. We can't wait to return!

GB1 is a classic seafood restaurant serving classic dishes, but it's all done so well, with innovative flavour twists and combinations it just can't be beaten!
We began with a delicious pink grapefruit bellini and some very moreish scallop flavoured popcorn, then we shared some Irish rock oysters which were so fresh, creamy and quite petite for the time of year, that they were among the best oysters I've ever had.
I then had a pickled mixed beetroot dish served with smoked and creamed local cheese, which was excellent, fresh and beautifully flavoured. The partner had smoked and tartare of salmon which looked good.
My main was Dover Sole (lovely) with garlic butter (sublime) and brown shrimps, served with samphire (really fresh) and a side of really yummy new potatoes in honey and grain mustard. It was all really good - every element was perfect! The partner had Bass with Piri Piri sauce and scallops, which he liked a lot.
My dessert of burnt custard flavoured with a fancy Tea wasn't quite my cup of tea, but never mind. Partner's lime panna cotta with various other elements looked good.
When I go to a seafood restaurant I want freshness and quality, and GB1 certainly delivered!
