“Better than Starsucks, much better”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

A very busy local cafe with an unrivalled (in brighton at least) range of coffees and a hot chocolate that has to the best you will ever have. I agree with a previous review here that the prices- especially for food- are over the top and could be lowered to be more inclusive and less in keeping with the corporate cafés nearby. Decor and seating are both decent and there are often displays of art and photography on the walls. They have just changed the lighting to some quite unique wooden sculptures and there is an impressive lampshade mathematical sphere made out of hundreds of those wooden stirrers. Seating is varied, with couches at the window and small tables scattered about. It must have wifi because you see people sat as though they' ex been there all day on their iPads and MacBooks - it's that kind of place.

“GREAT COFFEE, GOOD FOOD BUT POOR INSIDE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

The Redroaster is the most 'up market' place in St James' Street, near the Steine. People who go there on not on the poorer side.

Food prices are above those for the area and coffee ones fair for the quality cups.

Counter queues can be long. Staff seem committed to the place and do their best for customers.

I think that the inside of the place could do with a 'makeover' from decor to furniture. To me, it is depressing. There is an O.K. small seating area outside on busy bus routes.

The Redroaster has a strong local following.

“One of the best coffee in Brighton”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013 via mobile

First time I visited red roaster got single espresso, it was better than average coffee but not the best what I drunk. On the second time (11/11/13) get recommended from Robbie and was surprised, very nice, Bolivia, long coffee served in coffee pot.. The staff is great, everyone is smiling and you can see that they enjoy they job.. I will definitely come again, the environment is very nice, looks like this will be me new stop before work..

Source: drinking nice coffee for last 5 years on daily basis and worked as barista in restaurant famous for their coffee.

“Coffee and cake with friends”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2013

A lovely coffee shop that's roomy inside even though it's so popular that it's often busy. Great coffee, tasty cakes, friendly staff - watch the Kemptown world go by (or come in!) and people-watch (and doggy-watch!) from the Redroaster. If you're looking for somewhere to meet people or somewhere to take the weight off for a little while - look no further.

“Good coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

Have had coffee and eaten here on a number of occasions. Is always very busy and it can be difficult to get a table. On this occasion four of us went for coffee and a snack. The coffee and food were great.
