“Little gem and great for one night stay.”
Reviewed 19 March 2011

Highly recommended for couples wanting something relaxed and convenient for a city break. We were going to a gig at the Dome and it was an easy 15min walk away - perfect. Close to town, quiet location, easy to find, great breakfast, good service, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, small but well appointed rooms. Best for us was that it was one of the only places we could find in Brighton that would offer all this, but for a single night booking. Majority of places seem to have minimum of two nights stay at a weekend.

We had stayed here before and not been disappointed. Once in the ORIENTAL room - lovely, shower room dated and a bit low standard, but be warned the staff get in early for breakfast and stand outside in the courtyard yabbering on - you would think they might know people are trying to sleep ! TRAINING REQUIRED. We have then stayed in the VENETIAN and RENAISSANCE rooms - the ones to have because of the balconies and views. However on our last trip there was a group of young clubbers staying - but the problem was they brought friends back to the room and proceeded to party until1pm in the room and then return at 3 and carry on. We rang the duty manager who said he would ring them. No change. Rang him again and still nothing - I asked him to go up to their room as there were comings and goings and surely they were not all guests - finally it took me to go up to them and finally the guests left making as much noise as possible. I cannot believe no other guests were not disturbed. When broaching this with the lady on reception she agreed it wasnt acceptable and she will get the manager to call us. Numbers and emails were given but nothing happened. It is a shame because a phone call apology would have sufficed but we will not be recommending this hotel or staying again. I am a big believer in the service industry to do what you said you would do and how hard is aphone call? STAFF TRAINING NEEDED - especially the night manager on handling difficult guests !!!! Wifi - couldnt get connected at all - even the staff couldnt get me connected. Breakfast was lovely, location excellent and the room great but just a shame on HOW THE STAFF HANDLE COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES.

We stayed in the Manhattan Penthouse and were delighted with the styling, atmosphere and features of this individual and friendly hotel. The room was really fun and perfect for a short business trip with a bit of added pleasure. Friendly staff and great little decorative touches complemented the stay.

We booked a room called "Boudoir" which had a double bedroom plus a separate room with twin beds which would accommodate our two kids aged 8 & 11.

The room was clean and a fair size, but for £200 per night I would have expected a better standard of bed, bathroom fittings (the shower was a disappointment) and general decor. It wasn't dirty or unpleasant, just a bit tired and..... cheap looking.

On the whole it was a good experience - the service from the breakfast team and reception was very attentive, the inclusive breakfast was fine and the location spot on for being in the thick of it in minutes... it was just a bit overpriced for what we got.

We really enjoyed our stay in Brighton - the Pavillion was superb, the Pier & its amusements popular with the kids, the La(i)nes great for ambling around window shopping, the restaurants plentiful and walking along the promenade in the sunshine (even in Feb!) was great.

We recently spent a weekend in Brighton, staying at the Sea Spray Hotel.

On checking in, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, providing a street map highlighted to our needs in respect of nearby on street parking and local facilities.

It was clear that the Hotel actively ensures that its Guests are well looked after and that nothing is too much trouble to provide.

Our room was immaculate and comfortable and breakfast was superb, as were all staff.

The Hotel is very well located in terms of the beach and is in an enjoyably quiet area.

We will certainly be staying at the Sea Spray again!

Sea spray is right on the coast so ideal for exploring Brighton, as only 10 minutes walk from The Lanes and town centre. January was a bit too cold for a walk along the beach, but as the hotel was so comfortable that wasn't a problem. Would happily stay there again :)

Excellent, fun, friendly and great value. A real treat. Loved the themed rooms. I stayed in the geisha room. Great facilities and in the heart of kemp town.
