“Great and Disappointing...!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2013

We booked the Sea Spray based on its description and a fantastic telephone call to a very warm and friendly receptionist.
Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room by an equally friendly (if not the same) member of staff, the "Manhattan Suite" was extremely disappointing, definitely more shabby than chic, desperately needing attention to detail with cleaning and with a bathroom that had way too much silicone...
In my opinion the hotel is neither boutique or luxury, however the staff are excellent, the breakfast was fabulous and a great location.
We could have stayed at The Grand for similar money and had much better/convenient parking.
Sorry Sea Spray but the facility lets your great staff down.

This is one dirty filthy hotel to avoid at all costs!! .. Dont be fooled like us from their website because they have just glammed it up!

My wife, Baby and I stayed here a month ago and they put us down into the basement which smelt of damp and had stains all over the carpet and lethal wiring, oh and Mould in the Bathroom! considering we have our baby with us this was not on! unfortunately we couldn't complain as there was no staff in the Hotel as they had all gone home for the evening. Please Please Please do not book a room here as its a mould infested RAT hole and when you get the chance to complain you are treated like a child from the Manager and told to leave if you dont like it! ... We did leave and didn't stay for the second night but surprise surprise they STOLE our money and charged my card for a night we didn't stay!! ..

Oh and the award winning breakfast i wouldn't feed to my dog.
The website is full of lies and we were seriously sucked in by these people.

SO IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A NICE CLEAN, WARM, MODERN, CHILD FRIENDLY HOTEL DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BOOK THE SEA SPRAY .... PLEASE READ ALL THE BAD REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL RIGHT!!!!!

I could write so much more but ive got better things to do with my time... just dont stay at the see spray!.

Booked to stay one night the day before and was not disappointed in the least. Shall definitely be returning. The rooms were clean, bed very comfy, the location was good, parking nearby not a problem all in all made our stay in Brighton perfect!

We stayed for one night in a luxury double. The room was in the basement and as I'm tall I had a sea view! A bright, clean airy room. The bed was very comfortable. A huge selection of DVD's in the welcome area gave a welcome touch and the free wifi was an added bonus. Breakfast was tasty and sourced locally. If I am ever in the area again I would stay again.

On a Sunday evening my partner decided we should get away for a night to try and combat my pregnancy hormones. Within minutes we selected a location... Brighton and found a great price on a 4* boutique hotel with fun themed rooms. We snapped up one of the last 2 rooms available. On the Monday we arrived to a lovely warm welcome by a very helpful and friendly gentleman. Any needs, should we have had them, would have been catered for it appeared. Entering the Indian Summer room, first impressions, compact but clearly the best had been made of the space. A clean room with a wonderfully comfy bed. We didn't partake (owing to morning sickness) in the very reasonably priced morning breakfast in bed service, I'm sure we would have on any other occasion though. The Sea Spray hotel did just the job... A recommendation for you all from myself.

Sea Spray is beautifully located - a charming Regency square with the sea at one end and shops and restaurants at the other. We booked at the last minute and got the Geisha Room - a smallish room with a huge and very comfy bed, a bay window with a table and chairs and an ensuite shower room. My only negative comment on the room would be that apart from the wardrobe there was no storage space, so nowhere to put undies and jewellery - but otherwise it was a lovely room, quiet, charming and immaculately clean. The staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming, and they were well informed on the best places to eat, visit and explore. Breakfasts were great, with plenty to choose from; the vegetarian options were so good that even I, a confirmed meat-eater, had to try one and I wasn't disappointed. The style, friendliness and charm of Sea Spray is a perfect fit for Brighton and the location balances the seaside and the town perfectly. We'd happily come back here anytime.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are generally quieter. If you need a lot of space, talk to the staff before choosi...
