“Luxury room with the welcome of a home”
Reviewed 20 June 2010

The room was the sharp kind of luxury I like when I travel for business, but with the homely feel of the converted house in which the hotel lies. The welcome is amongst the best I've ever had, and the advice on where to eat/drink was great. There are no large parties here, meaning the place is calm and refreshing. My room (5) had a lovely view out to the sea and plenty of space to dump my stuff and spread out. The wifi is incredibly fast, leaving me a chance to catch up before the next day's work. The bed was comfortable with ample cushions and pillows.

Breakfast is exceptional. The Full English is copious and sets you up for the day - the fried eggs cooked to perfection unlike the London £220-a-night hotels I normally stay in for business. There's a good range of juices and proper plunged coffee on tap.

This place is just fabulous. It is close to everything you need. It is clean. The breakfast was great. The staff are helpful - particularly Sean who recommends where to go locally. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Brighton.

I live in Brighton and needed to find 2 rooms for two of my mothers friends for one night. Turns out this isn't so easy in Brighton as B & B's only offer rooms for 2 nights.

Sean from the White House came to my rescue. Thank you.

The rooms were excellent, very clean, very stylish and one even had a sea view.

Sean was very entertaining and welcoming and even invited me and my mother for breakfast the following morning even though we weren't staying there. The breakfast was also excellent and sourced from Sussex farms.

This hotel definately had the style and friendliness associated with Brighton and I will use it again and again.

The White House is immaculately clean, and decorated in boutique seaside-chic style. Pretty room with an Easter egg to welcome us over the Easter weekend - a nice touch. 1 minute walk from the seafront. On-street parking very close (although as others have said, you need to pay). Breakfast was delicious - both the full English and the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Our room was practically the smallest possible size able to fit a double-bed, and we could touch the ceiling when standing up. Bathroom also very small. Glad we are under 6" tall!

Hospitable welcome, baby-friendly (for example: proprieter happy to keep our baby's milk in the fridge, and let us help ourselves to toast before breakfast was served (a rather late 9:15am start on weekends and Bank Holidays)). Would stay here again.

Stayed with my friend and we had a lovely time. Were made to feel very much at home. Extremely clean our rooms felt as if they'd just been decorated. Lovely touches like bottled water, herbal teas and chocolate in our rooms. Nice view of the sea. Excellent value. Amazing breakfast. Highly recommend.

Just returned from a one night stay at this fabulous boutique hotel (wished we could have stayed longer). Sean and Kathryn (the owners) were so helpful, carrying our case to our room, explaining where to park (only £4 for 24 hours which is excellent for Brighton), giving us a map of the area and discount vouchers for the Royal Pavilion and advice on where to eat .And we were given an upgrade to the suite (how wonderful - beautifully decorated, comfy king size bed, our own balcony, lovely ensuite with complimentary toiletries). The breakfasts were beautiful - my husband choosing the full english and I chose the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon (delicious). Couldn't fault our stay at this little gem and would certainly recommend it .

My partner and I were very pleased with our stay at the White House, Brighton - excellent from start to finish. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and had a friendly chat with our helpful host. The location is just right: far enough from the center to feel peaceful (but close to Kemptown restaurants)... and by no means too far from the sights. The room was bright and comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. I especially appreciate the nice balance that they have achieved between B&B cosiness and hotel convenience. We would return without hesitation!
