“MadHatter's Tea Party @ Morris & Jacques! YumYum!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

Rachel helped me organise the welcoming brunch for my last yoga retreat and it was just excellent! Loads of vegetarian dishes, neat little details from "Alice in Wonderland", people were so full they could hardly move after the meal! Thank you so much to the whole M&J crew for such a special treat...

We had breakfast here on a weekend away to Brighton! It got recommended to us by the hotel we were staying in - Strawberry Fields. It was soooo yummy and the staff were lovely! A really nice relaxed cafe environment. Thankyou :-)

“On the way up in Kemp Town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

Brighton loves coffee shops, hairdressers and cafes. All of these are in abundance in this fair city and there is a right mish mash in quality.

So it was with great optimism that I strolled into Morris and Jacques the newest cafe in Kemp town. The cafe is nicely decorated and the staff very friendly. I popped in for breakfast but a glance over the menu showed that this cafe also offers some good classic dishes as well for lunch, as well as providing wine and beer to help it go down.

The breakfast menu also looked promising with eggs benedict and bubble and squeak as well as the classic M&J full english.

I ordered a latte which was well made, they use 'roasted' coffee beans which I use at home so a good start.

My breakfast which was made to order (as are all of their dishes), was served with a smile.
A butchers sausage, rashers of proper bacon, black pudding, tomatoes and a fried egg, nicely presented and hot from the kitchen.

The breakfast was great and good value and I will definitely be going back to try some of their other dishes. A south facing garden looks like this would also be a great place for one of their platters and a nice bottle of wine in the summer.

Morris and Jacques is definitely what Kemp Town needed, a smart friendly cafe in the cool part of town.

A wonderful find on our first morning in Brighton. We left our bag in our B&B and headed out looking for lunch. Morris & Jacques looked good and didn't disappoint. Wonderful eggs Benedict, good coffee and amazing cake. The atmosphere was relaxed and tranquil, the the staff were welcoming. Try it!
