This was a wonderful evening. you can start in the emporium cafe which is comfortable with settees as well as tables and chairs. Light snacks finished with gin and tonic sorbet ice.
the theater is terrific.
You walk into the wood covered in wood chippings with trees and tree stumps,
The seats are only 3 rows deep and the actors are so close to you.
Great acting and singing.
i have seen this before even in London's regents park and i must admit I preferred this performance.
If you want a treat come and see it

What a lovely quirky cafe and theatre...so original, and shabby chic. The mismatched kitchen chairs and benches with cushions were a pleasant surprise and just added to the atmosphere of the evening. The only downside I could see would be if you sat on an uncomfortable seat for the nearly 3hr show.
Fantastic cast and production. With the added bonus of being so close to everything, you could hear the words quite clearly, and the wonderful 'orchestra' didn't drown the songs out. Good costumes and excellent scenery, and with sitting 'in the woods' it made you feel part of the show.

If you are in Brighton during July, don't miss the wonderful production of Sondheim's Into The Woods at Emporium Theatre. It's a small intimate theatre and the audience are literally sitting In The Woods throughout the show, performed by a wonderful, highly experienced cast.
It's high quality musical theatre and may surprise you even if you do not normally visit such shows. Absolutely enthralling.
There was a full house the night we visited but the show is on throughout the month and it's well worth seeing if you can get a ticket.

Stumbled on this place by chance when we saw a poster in Brighton for 'Into the Woods'. We booked easily on the internet and were delightfully surprised by the quality of the production. All really professional and such an intimate experience. We are already eagerly anticipating the next production.

Been here a couple of times now, and it's a great little find. Very quirky place with good food as well, the shows are highly recommended by lots of people I have spoken to, haven't been myself yet but planning on going soon
