Popped in hungry with my family and enjoyed their fantastic steak burgers with fries, simply delicious, great value and service too. Smells like a stable tho......

Great little back street boozer. Friendly locals and staff. Good Beer Guide listed for 2014 and that's what we got. It was well frequented on our arrival, and silent. I whispered my order, more mocking the place than realising their quiz night was on, it was a Monday. We found seats right at the back out of the way. If we had arrived earlier we would have joined in. Worth a visit.

“Any port in a storm...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

You must know what it is like, you enjoy an afternoon movie at the cinema and then walk out into the darkness with a little niggling hunger and the need for a good eatery where you can sit and chat about the picture show you have just seen. You head off to a pub restaurant which is highly recommended by your companion only to find, even that early in the evening, it is fully booked. An hour and a half to train time and there is a bit of a rush on. So you just walk across the street and pop into the nearest pub offering grub on its outside blackboard. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, well yesterday was a winner’s day. The Battle of Trafalgar while not being the classiest pub in Brighton certainly tries hard to be. Staff were welcoming, the London Pride well-kept and the Chicken casserole very edible. The early evening crowd were cheerful, a couple of dogs were friendly and it was only a hundred or so yards away from the station and all of those yards were down hill. Two meals, two pints and a Jack chaser and all for twenty two quid. Must call again when we have more time.
