It is a shame that we never got to meet the famous house cat, Mr Watson as based upon our two night stay he must have had a wonderful time. Right from the start the Brighton House makes a good impression. We were enthusiastically welcomed at reception and made to feel very welcome throughout our stay. Our room was right at the top of the house, up a windy staircase and although small, it was perfectly comfortable. It also had a wide selection of teas and coffee which were much appreciated. The highlight of our stay however was the food. My wife absolutely loved the Continental breakfast, complete with Prosecco if you desired and the quality of the meat, cheese and fish was very high. One of the staff was also responsible for baking two of the best complimentary cakes that I have ever tasted. These were left (covered) in the corridor and I must admit that I helped myself to a slice on both days. A really lovely stay.
