I personally think they miss the mark completely on their website, this hotel is like a hostel/ Student accommodation it is CLEARY NOT INDICATED ON THE WEB. The rooms are terrible and the bathrooms are filthy, more to the point the corridors and rooms itself smells really bad.
The cups smells like toilet cleaner and cant be healthy to use.

We ended up checking out and spend money we did not really have on a different hotel, so go that extra mile and spend a little more if you ever want to book a hotel in brighton and AVOID this one.

I would have to say that on first appearances this hotel didn't look like much to write home about but as we walked through the door we were very pleasantly surprised. We were a group of blokes staying the night after some participated in the London to Brighton off-road bike ride and needed an inexpensive place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bar was well presented staff were very pleasant. I would say they have been doing some refurbishments as there were areas that were obviously recently decorated. The rooms were clean and well laid out even though a bit confusing why there was a sink with no running water and a microwave with nowhere near to plug it in to. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very welcoming the morning after.
All in all we had a good night out and in the hotel so don't be put off by the negative reviews as 15 blokes can't be wrong

Room Tip: There is a independent, well priced, secure overnight parking at the back of the hotel.

The setting of the hotel is brilliant however there was a broken window in our room, the curtains did not fit the windows meaning there was no privacy and the curtains did not shut properly. Our cold tap hardly worked only letting a tiny stream of water out. I know you pay for location but having lots of things in the room broken is not good. The rooms are spacious and the hotel staff seemed friendly but we found also that the corridors smelt very unpleasant.

Came here for celebrating my 21st in Brighton, came here as I've been here before and it is local to all the clubs and bars. My friends had rooms as well, therefore there was 3 rooms in total from the group, two of the rooms were perfect for what we wanted, however the other room had an awful bathroom, and bedroom layout. However we didn't let it bother us too much as we had 3 rooms between us and could just run to use another shower. Staff were friendly and greeted us nicely, We didn't stay at the hotel much, as we used it to get ready for a night out and then to sleep when we got back, and to get ready in the morning to leave.

We read the bad reviews but booked anyway. Good location, good price and for a place to crash after cycling 75 miles for charity it couldn't be bettered. Got there tired and dirty and not hoping for much but the receptionists were cheery and bright and directed us to a four bed room with clean sheets, comfy beds, clean shower with good hot water and clean towels on every bed. We then found the kettle, tea bags, microwave and fridge all working, clean and in good nick. Well worth the money and heartily recommend. And the Cubar off reception did a nice pint too!

Stayed here for one night, the rooms were spacious and clean however you could hear every creak and noise from other bedrooms, I also felt this hotel was overpriced for what you get amenities wise. I guess it's just the location they can get away with high prices. Staff were friendly and we had a great night but probably wouldn't stay here again

Stayed as part of a group of 16 people (yes the same group as the previous review) after cycling from London to Brighton.
Service was friendly and welcoming. Not the impression given by previous reviews.
The reception, corridors, lift were very worn, but clean enough.
The Room that I stayed in had three single beds in one room, and one attached room with one bed and one kitchenette in. It was clean, and had been refurbished recently, as had the large bathroom.
If four of you share a room and the cost, then it's a cheap place to stay for a night.
