For the amount of money we paid, we could have checked in to the Holiday inn which is almost next door. Unfortunately, it was fully booked. Therefore, for the convenience we booked this 'hotel'. The front was very unwelcome, the carpet was dirty and smell of strong chemical. There weren't any seating area and the toilets were filthy! We checked in for the 'family room' it has four single beds, the matters were poor quality with a den in the middle. The cleaners only clean where they could see, there were rubbish under the desk... They didn't clean the room while we were out, just gave us some fresh towers. The worst thing is, the walls and floorboards are VERY thin! We could hear people talking, children crying, every single footstep, flushing toilet, moving chair... If you want a relaxing break, don't stay here. I didn't sleep for two nights!

Room Tip: Our room is extremely noisy and far from the entrance. Not sure about the others.

Found this hotel as the cheapest last minute option (though still over £117 for a 1 night stay). Expected somewhat more for what we paid. Internally the hotel looked pretty good, but on entering the double room we had booked on the ground floor, it was actually 2 single beds joined together which was ok, but the bed was not fully made, and we were left with 2 SINGLE duvets folded up on the end of the bed. The bathroom although initially looked cleaned, upon lifting the toilet seat the cleaning standards failed on an extreme basic - the toilet had NOT been cleaned and had obviously been used by somebody taking a number 2. I have NEVER before come across this lack of cleaning in a hotel. I then needed to freshen up and take a shower and quickly realised that the water was not draining, so after a couple of minutes the water was almost at the top and overflowing the shower tray which would have flooded the bathroom floor had I not rushed and turned it off. We then asked the lady on reception for a DOUBLE duvet for the double bed we had booked, and struggled with a language barrier as she could speak little English. We were eventually told that a duvet would be sent. When we came back to the room after our evening out however, but the duvet was not there and the hotel was very noisy. We then attempted to express these concerns the next morning but again failed because of the language barrier. Overall, for the money we paid I do not expect these standards at a room costing over £100 per night. It is a shame because the room was actually very nice in terms of presentation and cleaning (aside from the toilet), nice wooden floors, we had a mini kitchen in the corner, and the bathroom was very modern and looked fairly new. The location was also really good and central for shops, sea front and nightlife. But failing on the basics above just let it down.

I paid £27 for 1 nights stay here back in May. 8 of us traveled up from London to celebrate a friends birthday in Brighton. We opted for West Beach hotel due to its price and location. The hotel didn't bowl me over, however it was absolutely FINE for the amount paid and for 1 nights kip! We spent the day walking along the beach, eating fish and chips and going on a few rides! You're never too old for that, so don't like anyone tell you otherwise! I slept surprisingly well and would rebook this hotel again for a trip on a budget.

The hotel is right beside the beach, restaurants and night life.

Don't expect the ritz and you'll be fine. People who are expecting that, should infact,
book the ritz.

Enjoy!

Lift and corridor carpets filthy. Shower partially blocked and won't drain well. Bedroom window cracked. Noisy staff on night duty. Bedroom door won't lock from inside. Windows not good enough to block noise from drinkers outside. Poor facilities.
If you want a relaxing break, go elsewhere.

Listen you cannot please all the people all of the time, now....I booked online...got to the hotel, checked in, and they found me a double, after the mistake of a twin, no problems, they changed for no extra cost!! they apologised for the on going works, but you really would not be bothered, as the room was clean the shower brill and the bed fab, and the new rooms are brilliant, tea and coffee free wifi free, you are only sleeping there!! So once you get up ....off to the cafe, or wander and find one... Recommended and they have a bar downstairs and smiley happy faces!! Try it!!

Room Tip: Just request...and they will help...and even change it for you!!
