I had arranged to take my mum and my best friend out for mums birthday for a show and wanted something to do before hand. So I thought that I would take them for afternoon tea. Paul said to leave it with him and he would make sure we had a table for afternoon tea for three be it inside or out.
Oh my god. It was fabulous. The tea rooms are small but its nice as it wasn't over run with lot of people.
The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful.
We loved the vintage crockery, the three tier of sandwiches as well as the endless amount of tea!
Now the cakes. Everyone knows that the highlight of afternoon tea is the cakes. There were so many different choices, three of each so we didn't have to argue over them! The young lady that served our cakes explained all the cakes, all the fillings and toppings she was so knowledgeable and it was great to know what each cake was. On three tiers of cakes there were strawberries and cherries and cranberries laced through. The cakes and scones were light, beautifully presented and so delicious.
The chef and her team are master bakers and I can definitely see why this place is No 1 for brighton!
Thank you so much for fitting us in. My mum had a wonderful time.

Popped here while down from Newcastle with a couple of friends. Was hoping for afternoon tea but told I would have had to give 48 hours notice. However the lovely woman who worked there put us a lovely tea together with delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes. We loved it all..... a little jewel and so pleased we went.

Went for lunch and what a delicious lunch it was. The choice was great from sandwiches, paninis to bagles. Also quiches, ploughmans and salads with great choice of chutneys and dressings. We had a beautiful and filling lunch, we weren't going to have cake but looking at the cake cabinet couldn't resist. The ginger and rhubarb cake was scrumptious and served with a beautifully brewed pot of tea.

Thank you to the lovely staff, so warm, welcoming and passionate.

Next time full on afternoon tea!
