probably more of a couples hotel, but we stayed as a family (2 +2) and we found it a really pleasant stay. The personable and attentive staff make the place so enjoyable. Rooms were compact and we had a small adjoining room that was needed for us all. Breakfast superb, as was the location. Size of rooms and creaking floorboards drop it down a notch. ( downstairs guest moaned about us walking around the room)

My wife and I had an excellent night at this hotel. Room was comfortable and well laid out. Breakfast was well cooked and prompt as we decided on breakfast in bed as it was my wife's birthday. Easy walking distance to shopping and sights. The cost is good for a Brighton Hotel too. Car park just opposite is in a great position and will soon be completely secure as the local authority are spending a fortune on gates and a security system!!!!!! Not soon enough for us though. Our stay was marred by one of eight victims of thefts from our cars overnight. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful offering to vacuum up the glass from the broken window, a place to keep warm and a reviving cup of coffee (it was cold) whilst waiting for the not so accommodating insurance company to pull their finger out. If your in Brighton give this hotel your custom as they deserve it your car will be safe in the future

We stayed for one night at the hotel. THIS IS A GREAT HOTEL. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome and nothing is to much trouble, very professional.
The bar area is nice and comfy, well presented and relaxing.

We stayed in the 'Gaula' room. The room is nicely decorated and felt very homely........but........the bath is very very dirty with stained sides it needs a good clean or replacing.
The TV in the bathroom is a nice touch but kind of pointless as its behind a glass panel and you can only hear it if you turn it up full volume?
The bed covers/duvet had a horrible smell to it (unclean), had a bad nights sleep due it this, other then that the room was fantastic.
The floorboards creek A LOT, you can hear people in the early hours walking around and again at 6.30am.

CARPARK........this has nothing to do with the hotel but be careful parking in the underground carpark, i read a review on here about a guests car window being smashed and items stolen from the carpark. On our exit there was a car parked behind us and a car in front of us with there windows smashed and items stolen.
They are refurbing the carpark and putting in new security doors etc so only car owners can get access but until thats done i would think twice before parking there?

All in all we had a great time and will be back soon to try a different style room :) Thank you Una

If you are looking for grey and corporate that this place is not for you. What a wonderful warm, cosy and unique place. The hosts are impeccable. I love nice hotels with style and this so fitted the bill. The rooms are all different and I was in Santana (all named after rivers) which was a beautifully appointed room. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. Can't wait to go back and to stay longer.

Nice hotel in a good area, reasonable value although my single room was very small. However, it was neat, clean, and comfy. Bar / restaurant etc were very nice. I would recommend. Of note, I flew into gatwick and the train to Brighton was a very handy option.

Car Park access is excellent, directly opposite hotel and underground so no car park view! Well priced too for Brighton.

Hotel situated in Regency Square - excellently located for town centre and sea front access, fall out your front door to the sea and short stroll to shops, restaurants and other amenities. Sits at 90 degrees to sea front so views to sea are not direct but they are there!

Hotel overall is well finished and retains character of original building but with a modern feel. Unique art / sculpture, decoration, and furniture in communal areas ensure the "boutique" name is respected. Breakfast room and Bar both excellent.

Breakfast great - good choice of cooked and continental options. Served promptly (even when busy) and by courteous and professional staff. Bar also well stocked reasonably priced - again good staff and personal, friendly service throughout.

We stayed in the Wista Suite. Lots of room, with good quality fittings. A luxury feel throughout. Bathroom with separate shower and bath a real treat in a "small" hotel. The odd squeaky floor board the only real annoyance. Oversized sofa due a clean.

Staff are excellent and you are made to feel at home straight away, friendly and helpful throughout.

Definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area that wants individual style and quality.

Room Tip: Check out the web site - great detail.

I had a business meeting on a Friday morning in Brighton so needed to stay one night. Rather than stay at the Hilton (where the meeting was to be held) I checked on Trip Advisor and noted Hotel Una's no 1 slot. I booked it via Expedia and got a great deal (£55 including breakfast and internet for a single room).

First of all the hotel is in a really good position just by the promenade. It doesn't have it's own parking but there is a large public car pack across the road which is fine.

The bottom line is that this independently owned and run hotel thoroughly deserves it's high rating. Because they were not full that night they upgraded me to a bigger room. The room, whislt "compact" was well appointed with all the facilities one would expect from an upmarket hotel chain. Couple of criticisms of the room were (a) bed wasn't that comfortable and (b) no drawers in the room.

The hotel doesn't have an evening restaurant but they gave me a great recommendation to a local restaurant that was really good. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and traditional. No buffet...hooray!

I had some drinks at the bar after dinner. Good selection and nice not to be "fleeced". The drinks cost were very reasonable.

The staff are warm and genuinely friendly.

Final thing to mention. I'm a business traveller who needs very good internet access. This hotel has simply the best internet service of any hotel I've ever visited. The wireless LAN coverage is great all over the hotel...in my room but also in the public areas. You can use as many devices as you like with no extra charge. And it was super fast.

Well done Hote Una
