Stayed in the Danube room with beautiful bay windows, deep leather sofa and a bed so comfy you don'y want to get up. Great staff who were friendly, efficient and informative and everything was spotless. The city of Brighton sadly has seen better days but in contrast Hotel Una is a stylish breath of fresh air.

We booked this hotel because of all the rave reviews on Tripadvisor and were very disappointed. We can't understand how it can be rated no.1 hotel in Brighton on Tripadvisor.
To be fair to the hotel our room was the last one available as the hotel was fully booked so maybe we were really unlucky and got the worst room.
The room named Rhine was on the third floor and although the first impression of both the room and bathroom were that they were both stylish and tastefully decorated we didn't have a comfortable stay.
The room was small and hot (no fan or air conditioning) and it had a low ceiling which made it feel claustrophobic. The floor boards creaked terribly every step you took and if you got up in the night the creaking woke the other person. The room was not well sound proofed and we could hear creaking from above and people's voices. The tiny bathroom (also stylishly decorated) had the loo crammed between the basin side and the bath and the loo paper was positioned behind our backs. My husband's head touched the ceiling in the shower
They forgot our 7am wake up call and the wifi in the room kept cutting out and my husband had to go downstairs to use his computer. For anyone with work to do and dependent on wifi this was a poor show.
The plus factors: Everyone in the hotel was enthusiastic, very helpful and friendly.
There was water and tea and coffee in our room and very nice quality towels, bed linen and toiletries. Breakfast was fine. The hotel is well located near the sea front but based on our experience we would not recommend it.

Stayed in this hotel last week for a 40th birthday. On arrival we were upgraded to the Santana Room which we really appreciated.
The hotel is in an amazing location on Regency Square which has an underground car park which was very reasonably priced and secure - perfect!
The hotels itself was fab, great atmosphere, wonderful bath in our room and spotlessly clean. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.
We had a cocktail in the bar on returning to the hotel in the evening, give it a go, it’s definitely worth trying.
Breakfast was fab and a really good choice.
All in all I loved this hotel and will be returning.
THANK YOU

Best hotel I have ever stay in!! Went with partner last week, the room was beautiful, staff were so lovely and warming, room and gorgeous bathroom spotless, we've stayed in some real dives recently and paid the same prices, so I would definitely say worth the money, our room had lots of personal touches which just made it very cosy and warming, couldn't fault a thing, booking for next weekend already!

We only stayed here for one night but the service was second to none and compared with the Asian 5 star hotels we have stayed in, it's a pit more English hotels don't understand the concept. The room was nice and quirky and made a pleasant change from the chains.

Having stayed in a number of hotels over the last 5 years or so in Brighton, when we booked this, I really didnt expect it to be as amazing as it is.

The hotel has a great location in Regency Square, just up the street from the old Brighton Pier, with the park facing the Sea, and a large car park underground.

Each room is unique and different. We actually stayed in two of the rooms, ( oops, we arrived a day early without a reservation in the middle of the night and we were accommodated immediately, which I might add was totally my fault.)
I also had a chance to view a few other rooms and I can tell you each one has a different feel, yet all are amazingly decorated, there are no cookie cutter rooms here.

The price was more than reasonable for us, comparing apples to oranges with the other properties we have stayed in here in Brighton.

The staff is amazing and attentive, the housekeeping staff kept our rooms immaculate, the night porter was always there to let us in whenever we arrived. There are no real words to describe the amazing talents of reception staff. If you need anything, they can find it, or direct you to where it is.

It certainly deserves its ranking on Trip Advisor. If you are looking for a Holiday Inn, or a Hilton with cookie cutter rooms and crowds of people, this is not for you. This is peace and quiet, done tastefully and imaginatively. By far the very best, in Brighton.

Room Tip: Each room is different, call the hotel view the photographs. Every room is listed. Tell them what yo...

At the time of writing this, Hotel Una is rated number 1 of all the hotels on Trip Adisor.

Now, don't gt me wrong this is a good hotel, but the best around? I find that hard to believe. The staff are friendly and service is efficient. The room we stayed in was good but showing signs of shabbiness. The shower leaked, the wooden shutters were a bit worn and the TV was fitted on the wall wonkily.

Breakfast was good but could maybe have been more generous. It was better than most guest houses though.

Location wise it was close tot he beach and a 10-15 min walk from the Pier and The Lanes. There is a large car park under the square, cost about £25 for a day and a bit parking here.

The square it is on however seems to be frequented by a few undesirables. A group was congregated drinking until the early hours and at one point had a blazing, swear filled argument with another group across the road. This isn't the hotels fault but I don't think every property on the square is of the same calibre as this one.

So yes it's good, and maybe not really my cup of tea, I'm sure many like it but next time I will perhaps not choose to follow Tripadvisor reviews quite so much, I think the ones on here flatter the hotel a bit too much. Price wise it is a bit over priced for what it is also.
