“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

We just got back from a weekend stay at The Griffin guest House in Brighton in which we went to for my Mum's Birthday. On arrival we were very happy with the location of where the guest house is within walking distance of all the main attractions in Brighton including the pier and the lanes as well as having a brilliant view of the Brighton wheel! The actual guest house was very clean inside and we were warmly welcomed by the 2 owners of the Guest house who soon showed us around our rooms. Our rooms were cosy yet spacious with stunning interior and the beds were ridiculously comfortable! We also had a television with a large list of channels available! We also had free choc given to us as well as free access to teas coffee biscuits and earplugs! We slept SO well. The best thing for us was the breakfasts, by far the best breakfasts we've ever had with brilliant service!

The whole experience was so enjoyable and we will certainly be coming back to this guest house and we recommend to everyone!

Beautiful place to stay for a quiet weekend with your partner. When we arrived the owner was lovely and helpful and knowledgeable. The room was very nice, comfy and warm. The breakfast was awesome. We had a great time and highly recommend the griffin! We would definitely return.

Just off the sea front. Quirky pub over the road. Central Brighton. Comfortable, clean, hosts generous with their knowledge, breakfast superb, tea and coffee laid on, beds comfortable, pillows soft, wonderful stay. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: Had a mini suite. Excellent adults share a room. Teenager has own room and we all shared a bathroom.

We were welcomed and looked after by the friendliest and most helpful owners! They cooked the best tasting and well presented breakfasts we have ever had! The room was lovely, clean, warm, modern and with everything we could have wanted. They also had a lovely little conservatory at the back where you could sit, with tea and coffee making facilities, fab selection of biscuits and fruit. The whole place had a lovely atmosphere, and little touches like the body wash/lotion and even a Twirl each in our room made this trip so enjoyable for us. We would recommend the Griffin to anyone who was going stay in Brighton. Well worth every penny, great location, great food, great service! Thank you so much to the Griffin!

We stayed for one night in Room 4 (four poster bed, whirlpool bath) and had a lovely stay.
On arrival our greeting was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had already arranged dinner that night and planned things to do but surely would have been given recommendations had we asked for them.

The room was large and clean and included a tv/dvd player (selection of dvds on bookshelf downstairs), wine fridge and ipod dock. It also had an oblique sea view which does mean you have to stand at the correct angle at the window to see it! The bath was beyond expectation and quirkily not in a separate bathroom. There is a separate shower attachment but no shower curtain which meant things did get a bit splashy!

The location is excellent. Pretty much opposite the pier and a short walk to the laines. We walked from the train station in about 15-20 mins. The downside to this is that it was rather noisy when it came to sleeping.

Breakfast was good, served between 9-10am which is not too early and still leaves plenty of time of prior to check out. There is a communal room with tea/coffee making facilities which you are able to help yourself too. Here there is a balcony too for smokers.

When it came to checking out we couldn't find anyone to hand our key to, we waited a short while but after it was clear no one was around we asked the cleaner who said we could leave our bags and take the key to get back in until we needed to. This was fine and suited us but it was a shame after the welcome had been so good. If you know people will be checking out at 12 (a time you've set) you'd think someone would be around.

Overall we had a lovely romantic stay and would highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I booked two nights here for a romantic break following the fantastic recommendations on this site and I can completely agree with the reviews. Every part of the house is welcoming, relaxed and friendly and the little conservatory for drinks and snacks was very cosy.
We chose the room with the four poster bed and whirlpool bath as we wanted something a bit special and it was absolutely perfect, if you want to do the champagne and candles after a romantic meal this is perfect. The bed is like a dream as well, beautiful feather duvet and crisp sheets. Breakfast is delicious and the owners were really friendly and helpful. I honestly couldn't fault this B&B and if we went back to Brighton it would definitely be my first choice.
