Description: The Hop & Vine is an independently owned wine bar/pizzeria in the Fiveways area of Brighton. Open from 11am Monday to Friday and 10am on Saturday and Sunday you will always be greeted with a friendly welcome. The focus is on hand selected wines, craft beers and local real ales. We also serve cocktails and a wide range of soft drinks not forgetting that we also serve a full range of Fairtrade, organic coffee and teas. The majority of our food is locally sourced from Brighton Stalwarts such as Barfield's Butchers and The Sussex Ice Cream Company. Kids are welcome and we have a kids' menu along with highchairs and baby change facilities. We look forward to welcoming you for drinks or a meal.

“Good local restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Friendly and welcoming, non fussy interior, locally sourced ingredients, pleasant situation despite being on a busy road near the 'Fiveways' junction. The food was good although the same sauce with both starter and main course (a spicy onion sauce) is perhaps a bit unimaginative. Also would have liked a few more 'greens' with the otherwise excellent burger. But really we are very lucky to have such a good restaurant on our doorstep.

“Great new local!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

Moved here last week. Have already visited for a family meal twice. Very good service and excellent wine selection. They also do pints!! Had steaks tonight that were good but would have liked more veg/greens selection to go with it. Kids menu basic but very good value. Looking forward to making this a weekly meal out.
Excellent atmosphere with a small outside area and upstairs.

“Great time at the Hop and Vine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

This gem of a restaurant has only been open for a short time but already the word on the street is good. We booked a 19.00 table and there were a few people there, we were shown to our table by Chloe who continued to look after us all evening, she was very attentive without being over the top also having a good knowledge of the menu.
Our starters arrived mine crab on brioche and my wife the special Duck spring rolls both excellent.
By now the place was beginning to buzz as it filled up. We both settled for the burgers and we're not disappointed, a filling homemade burger on a Brioche roll with a hearty filling and a side of hand cut chips.
No room for desert but they did look good settled for coffee.
You don't have go here to eat you can just have a drink but I reckon after seeing the food come out you will stay and eat.they have extra seating upstairs.
