“Disappointed and tired!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2013

Well it didn't get off to a great start as they couldn't find my booking when I called to check something and had to spend a work morning s3nding emails and making calls to resolve. Then to be woken up at 1:30 am by two intimidating security guards to say there was a noise complaint from our room and asking how many people were in my room and what we re we doing when we had been watching tv on volume 8 and had turned it off & fallen asleep about half hour before was frankly really irritating. Then when I complained to the desk in the morning I got a half hearted apology and told that they didn't report us so we weren't in trouble?!?! The hotel was clean and food was good but think I'll avoid it in the future don't want to get told off again for watching tv on a low volume and falling asleep. Can't have that kind of stuff happening in a hotel!!

Dear fogg27
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.

Modern business hotel, good service, comfortable rooms and a good location. Good value for money too, on the face of it (£75 for the room). But the costs racked up because they charge £10 a day for Wi-Fi and the car park opposite charges £12 per day. Taken together, that added £44 to an overnight business trip, which came as a bit of a shock.

Room Tip: You have to pay for your parking in advance and the day ticket expires at 4am, so take care to book...

Dear OxfordDan
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Parking in Brighton is extremely expensive in comparison to other UK cities. Saying that, the train station car park is in fact one of the cheapest car parks around. All the seafront Hotel charge a minimum of £18 and some charge up to £26. Our room prices are about 10%-20% cheaper than the branded seafront Hotels. Add this to 40% less costs in terms of parking and the saving can be £40 per night. Please feel free to drop me an email on your next visit – If you visit Brighton on business regularly, I would be more than happy to agree a corporate rate with you - your Wifi will be complimentary for all your future stays and you can benefit from other elements attached to our loyalty programme. .

Have family who live near this hotel and was aware of parking available so booked for weekend break of 2 nights. Once booked read some of the previous reviews and was a bit apprehensive about the noisy guests aspect. On arrival mentioned this to reception and they happily accommodated our request for a quieter floor but also advised due to time of year hen and stag parties are fewer. First night did hear some door slamming but this is down to the guests being less considerate than some. Room was clean and had tea, coffee making facilities. Also bathroom toiletries, welcome as forgot some of mine.!. As rained 1st night had dinner in bar, menu okay but maybe should have chosen different option. Breakfast was good with a good choice of food which was replenished by staff regularly and tables cleared quickly. Staff helpful and friendly. One of our party paid less for a hotel on the sea front but said room was like a cupboard - so yes paid more for this hotel but guess you get what you pay for. Would use it again.

Room Tip: Ask for quieter floor if concerned about noise. Was on 4th.

Dear ruthie099
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
I was happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. All our rooms are approximately 26 square metres. Rooms which are cheaper on the seafront are indeed smaller than this as your friend stated so we feel we offer great value for money. I hope you choose to visit us again in the near future.

I stayed in a double room for one night in October. Had a great time with the added bonus of a good night’s sleep in a comfy bed. I stayed in room 419, which was nice and large, with modern furnishings, plenty of space to hang clothes and keep your belongings. The room had air-con, a large bathroom (with shower and bath) and a window looking out onto the college next door. I paid £70 which included breakfast, which for Brighton is outstanding value considering what you get – a proper hotel room. The location is great, about two minutes walk from the station, and in a relatively quiet part of town (so no noise at night from the pubs and bars you get elsewhere). Whilst the sea-front is a bit of a walk, there’s plenty of taxis and buses at the station. Staff at check-in were very friendly and welcoming. It’s advertised as 3*, so you don’t get a gym or swimming pool, but as somewhere to stay for a relatively cheap price it’s a great choice and is good quality especially for those who want to go to Brighton, but don’t want to be staying above a club or bar.

Good points: Location – close to station and away from the noisy parts of Brighton, nice large room, comfy bed. Breakfast served to 11.30am at weekends.

Bad points: Expensive Wi-Fi/Internet access.

Having stayed at Jurys Inn on a previous visit to Brighton we decided to go in for lunch when we got off the train.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and welcoming. The lunch was lovely and the price very reasonable.
Will definitely return, hopefully to stay, on our next visit.

If you like a modern hotel with a standard approach to everything, this is a good hotel. Receptionists are friendly, rooms are modern and 'bland' in my view but they are spotless and have everything that could be needed. So one of the many branded bland hotels that are very handy for staying in whilst on business. Food in the bar is fine. Breakfast is fine too - a good choice of dishes and options. The hotel is well situated for the Brighton train station. The attempts to implement environmental practices is to be applauded. Staff are friendly and welcoming. So, if you want a well-appointed, centrally located hotel, decently priced hotel this fits the bill.

Dear Sara D
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
We are currently in review with various designers with a view to revamping the entire hotel. Obviously this will take some time but we are preparing for a substantial reinvestment in the coming year and im sure the end result will remove the ‘bland’ narrative. We take great pride in ensuring the high levels of cleanliness you mention. We are also the ‘Greenest’ large scale Hotel in the city if not on the south coast.
I look forward to welcoming you back to visit us again soon in the near future.

Wheel your suitcases from the railway station platform to your Jury's Inn bedroom in five minutes, saving £££ on taxis on arrival and departure. When you need a taxi or a bus during your stay, there are plenty of both at the station a few metres away. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. For a few pounds extra you can check in early (our room was ready for us by 11am), enjoy free wifi and coffee and tea making facilities in your room, and room service any time. We could even see the sea (just) from our top floor bedroom! We didn't eat in but the menus look inviting. Excellent buffet breakfast providing everything you could possibly want. Jury's Inn has most of the facilities that you'd expect in a hotel costing half as much again. You can pay far more for a dingy room and surly staff in most of the hotels on the sea front: what a waste of money if you do!

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for early check-in and a high floor where it's quieter.
