The food here was lovely. I had a simple Bolognese and my boyfriend had the scallop main and they were both really good. Service was good too. Would go back if I was in Brighton.

I have eaten at Casalingo on many work visits to Brighton. A haven of good home cooked Italian food and convivial service. The specials are good and flexible with pasta mains converted for staters. Fish dishes especially good. If you want the tip to be paid directly to your server knock off the service charge and leave cash.

We have eaten there on several occassions and never been disappointed. We haven't progressed beyond the pasta dishes and probably never will. Delicious! For the weekends you need to be sure to book.......it's a very popular local restaurant. Great atmosphere and prices are reasonable.

It is a pretty hard decision to say best Italian food, in a city where there is an abundance of Italian restaurants, but in my opinion, this is as far as it goes outside of Italy. The service is supreme, the staff are both kind and witty, and the food is superb. I would recommend you to eat from the daily specials as they are cooked with seasonal ingredients.
Other than that, as a starter, prosciutto e fichi is a great treat with red wine. Their osso buco cooked in red wine, was also very tasty and soft. They don't serve pizza, however, if you're craving for carbohydrates, their pasta dishes, especially tortellini, are also superb. I would recommend this place for almost every occasion, except that it can be cramped for parties of more than ten people. I can honestly say whenever I eat Italian in another place in the UK, I always end up regretting that I haven't eaten in Casalingo instead.
