My first time at this restaurant. It is small but the atmosphere is great. The best way to describe the menu is tapas, but Japanese. You order small dishes from a wide range of delicious options.

We did not find a single thing we did not like. The choice of sakes is impressive also.

I highly recommend you sample this restaurant. One piece of advice, you normally need to book in advance. If you arrive in town, still give it a try, but it is extremely popular.

There are other restaurants do skewers on the same street but they are the best!!!!

Love all of their skewers, korean chicken wings, grilled rice cake and lamb chop etc...

Resonable price, staff are very helpful and friendly.
Highly recommended!

We turned up early without a reservation and were lucky to get seated, as most of the restaurant seemed to be booked up. We sat at the bar and ordered 2 drinks and the pork belly, tomato salad, korean chicken wings, chicken hearts, grilled rice cake. It was so fun watching it all get cooked in front of us, and the flavour was superb. The salad was super fresh, the pork belly was tender and juicy, the wings were crispy with a lovely tangy sauce. The dessert of the white choc, green tea and yuzu finger was also delicious, although you couldn't really pick up the white choc taste. The total came to ~£30 which I was very happy with. Tip: to avoid disappointment, it is best to book as it is quite a small establishment.

I have eaten here about ten times so far with a variety of people and really rate the food. It is also reasonably cheap for central Brighton.

Downsides: The tables are small and the place can feel very cramped. I prefer to eat at the bar if I am dining with one other person as it is more private. Also the interior feels a bit tired and it is not great for vegetarians.

I visited Japan in October 2016 and the yakitori in this place is on par if not better quality than some that I ate out there.
