Second visit to this campsite and we all just love it here.

The location is gorgeous, the walks fantastic.

The campsite itself is kept so clean, plenty of room, lovely shower facilities and the wardens are so helpful, friendly and always smiling. Amenity blocks are always clean. Swimming pool tiny but again lovely to use and kept clean.

The only downside is the very steep hill to get to the site and then the parking of residential cars along narrow road - meet a caravan here being towed and could be in trouble!!

One disappointment to this second visit was The Retreat. Normally we cook by the tent, but this time we decided to treat ourselves to our evening meals in The Retreat. We went three nights running and the food was absolutely superb - some of the best meals we have had for a long long time. However whilst we were made to feel welcome the first two nights, on the third night there was a private function booked one end of the room and 90% of the tables reserved the other end of the room. We had not been made aware that tables could be reserved. However we managed to find a table but the service was poor compared to other nights and very rushed - cutlery was almost whipped out of hands before finished last mouth full. We felt very in the way, very rushed and it did disappoint on our last night. Regulars here certainly got much better service than those just on a few days holiday.

Due to the wonderful campsite and superb wardens on the touring site, we will however be back and look forward to our next stay with you in August.

Thank you for your recent review.

It is always nice to hear when customers return, looks like we must be doing something right.

We try very hard to keep our cleaning standards high, so to get nice comments puts a smile on our faces.

We would agree that the hill is very steep, but we do have a saying here at Shearbarn 'Welcome to Paradise' so hopefully you thought it was worth it.

I will pass on your comments to our Head Chef, Dan & his team who are always happy to hear such lovely feedback so thank you.

I am sorry if you felt rushed on one of your nights at the Retreat, I will pass your feedback onto our Complex Manager as we are always looking for ways to improve our customer service levels.

We look forward to seeing you back here in 'Paradise' in August.

We arrived late at this camp and the warden who met us was brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. The camp is lovely and the facillites good. The road leading up to the camp is pretty steep when your towing.

Okay, so there isn't a lot to do at the site - but that's why we loved it. If you're after bingo and boozing don't go here. It is NOT your regular caravan site. (We visited Combe Haven a few years ago and were disappointed with the amount of "chavs, bingo and boozing").
If you're like us and want somewhere quiet with really clean, honest facilities and happy, helpful staff then this is your place.
We stayed in a Platinum lodge. It was huge! Very clean with linen and towels included. Beds were made up ready for us. They also provide a "welcome bag" with tea/coffee (for the Tassimo machine no less), tea-towel, washing-up liquid, cloths and cleany-scrubby thingy.
Struggling to say how much we enjoyed our stay.
3 bed Platinum is fantastic, main bedroom is en-suite with a TV. Two other bedrooms are also big for what we thought would be a caravan stay as the website doesn't do the site justice (no floor layouts or pictures of the lodges).
Kitchen - FULLY equipped for a change with SHARP KNIVES (for a change), dish-washer and washing machine! Sorry to shout, but that's a rare thing from my experience -being the chief cook & bottle washer.
Bathroom - with a full bath!
Gas central heating with an electric fire in the social area.
Incredibly well presented and appointed. Blown away.
Staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful and the beer isn't a rip-off, either at £3.20 a pint. How good does it get?
Big thanks to John in the pool, great fella you have to say hello to.

KEEP IT QUIET - this is a good one and excuse the poor use of exclamation marks but it deserves it.

Thank you for this excellent review - I am really pleased you enjoyed your time with us.

It sounds like you were impressed with the Platinum Lodge and all of the little extras such as the coffee machine and welcome pack that we have introduced this year. It's great to hear that these little things are being appreciated by our guests. The team worked extremely hard over the winter period introducing some of the 'home comforts' to our lodges and they, like me, will be delighted to hear reviews such as yours.

Finally, thank you for reviewing our facilities and prices, I will share your review with the team, who will be very happy with the positive feedback.

I will also pass your thanks onto our Leisure Manager, John.

I hope to see you again in the near future.

Just returned from a 3 night break in a two bed VIP lodge with hot tub. We are a family of four (two kids under 5). This is a lovely quiet holiday park in a beautiful location, high on a hill with beautiful views out to sea. Our lodge was very spacious, well equipped, clean and modern with dishwasher, washing machine, central heating and en suite to main bedroom. The hot tub was a big hit with everyone! The restaurant has a great indoor soft play room for the kids and a few arcade games and pool table. The indoor pool is warm and clean. Generally a very well maintained site. Would highly recommend. Can't comment on restaurant food as didn't get a chance to try it.

The staff are so friendly, the facilities are really clean! Check it out, its worth a visit, with lots to see around the area!
Fabulous entertainment in the evenings, such a laugh!
We camped there but our friends had a lodge which was also very clean and looked so very comfortable!

Room Tip: They have excellent choices of Lodges if you don't want to camp!
