“Very pleasant few nights”
Reviewed 6 July 2014 via mobile

We took our tent and decided to pitch up for a few nights and was pleasantly surprised at what a nice site this is as i hadn't read any reviews previous. The pitches were nice and big and ground flat, made for easy put up of the tent. This was helped by the complimentary ice lolly on arrival (very hot day!) nice touch... The wardens were very friendly and welcoming!

The toilets and showers were clean and tidy, the water was nice and warm. Agree a shelf in each shower would help as somewhere to put toiletries.

We ate at the clubhouse second night, very reasonably priced food and alcoholic drinks, pint of beer and bottled cider £6 approx. I have to say the food was very good quality and tasty and the waitresses very friendly and accommodating.

I would definitely return. If I was being picky us campers would like a fridge to compliment the freezer, seen that at other sites. Would help with keeping milk fresh etc but not essential.

We love this site, very quiet and peaceful, lovely and flat with big pitches. The facilities are excellent kept very clean and the wardens on site really nice and helpful and the bonus is that it is right next door to Hastings Country Park which is a fantastic place for walks.

we decided to hook up the trailer tent and visit the park that my husband went with his parents as a child.
We arrived late but that wasn't a problem, the shower/toileting blocks are clean but the cubicles a bit small, in the showers no shelf for shampoo etc and only one hook on the door for clothing, towels etc.The pitch was a good size and the park tidy.
The first night we were there is when the disappointment began, at 2 am some young teenagers shouting, throwing things around, running around between the tents and no staff around to deal with the problem. On the second night we went to the retreat restaurant and the food was good, but then there was nothing else to do, no form of entertainment on site. My husband and i decided that this site was not suitable for us with 3 teenagers who complained they were bored, and also the lack of security at night, we will not be returning.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review following your recent stay at Hastings Touring Park.

Firstly, thank you for the positive feedback regarding the pitch size and the general tidiness of the Park itself. I was also pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meals in the Retreat restaurant. I will pass your feedback onto the team.

Please accept my apologies if you found the Park to be unsuitable with three teenagers, we do have occasional entertainment but we are more of a 'relaxed' park and do not offer entertainment on a daily basis.

I have taken note of your comments regarding the lack of hooks on the shower doors and the need for a shelf for shampoo and will certainly rectify this issue so that this does not affect other guests in the future.

I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your break with us, thank you once again for your feedback as it is appreciated.

A delightful place, with stunning views, helpful staff and peace and quiet.

We stayed in a Platinum lodge which was very clean and well equipped.

The welcome pack had everything we needed when we arrived and, Tesco delivered my order direct to the lodge.

All staff were friendly, willing to help and cheerful.

No lists of silly rules, just enough guidance to ensure health and safety.

Will most definitely visit again.

We hire a platinum Lodge for the weekend, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room lounge, everything one needed in the lodge. Better than many 5 star hotels. welcome pack to boot. The resterant was also quite good, try the seared halibut. All in all a very good weekend at a very good place.

Very good touring park and you can use all the facilities of Shearbarn Holiday Park which are a few minutes walk away. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. Toilets kept very clean at all times. We visited in June so quite quiet. Not sure if I would like to be there in the busy season as pitches can be quite close. Old Hastings Town is well worth a visit and not to far from the site. Be warned if you don't drive everywhere the return walk to the site is uphill all the way. We have a motor home so we walk and cycle everywhere. We are pretty fit but we found the hill a bit of climb.

Thank you for leaving us your comments following your recent stay with us.

I will pass your comments onto the Touring Wardens who will be happy that you were pleased with the cleaning standards, they work extremely hard to maintain the standards so this feedback is well received, thank you.

We can get very busy here at Hastings Touring Park in the summer weeks, some guests like the busy periods and some, like yourselves, like it when its less busy and you have more space to enjoy and we understand that.

The hill up to Shearbarn is a bit of a climb isn't it, however, we hope it is worth it when you arrive at the top.

We hope to see you again soon.

Mty wife and I have just enjoyed a great short weekend break at Shearbarn in a Platiinum lodge (no 12). The park occupies a splendid peaceful location with views, on the hill above and within very easy reach of Hastings old town. The lodge was immaculate and extremely well equipped. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and we look forward to our next visit
