“mexilant restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2010

Thank God for this restaurant! Something new came with it to Hastings! Lovely food, excellent staff! Hastings badly needed a different flavour and this lovely mexican restaurant brings something new! We have been there about 7-8 times in 5 months, taking work mates and friends there! Highly recomended by me!.

“Food okay, service appalling.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2010

I visited the restaurant on a fairly quiet Sunday lunchtime with 6 of my family and friends. We waited a very long time for drinks and had to ask for them. Three out of six starters arrived but the others had not been written down by our original surly waitress. Another waitress took over and checked our order. The starters arrived in three sittings. We then had to wait over an hour for our main course, during this time several other tables left without receiving any food. The food was fair but the service was so slow that we didn't attempt to have dessert. The side orders, again, had to be chased and arrived after we had finished the main course. Two of the three waitresses were helpful and tried to ensure we received our food and rectify mistakes however our experience was, on the whole, very disappointing.

“Mediocre TexMex”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2010

Took the kids for a test, shortly after Reina opened. We visited an empty restaurant at lunchtime. he waitress seemed new, as she didn't know the menu. The kids ordered spareribs and fries, I tried the beef salad. The salad was not up to standard. Beef was okay, but the salad lacked all the ingredients that make latin-american food special. No lime, no koriander, no kick. Bet they have a cook from Greeco or Turkey. The spareribs were okay, but thick in standard sauce. When we payed, we got a heep of coins for change. The kids weren't happy, and they are so easy to please...

“Heartily recommended - 10/10!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2009

We went for a short break in Hastings and had an absolutely marvellous meal here on their first weekend of opening. We had the kids with us and we were treated like royalty. The food was excellent and really good value. The second night we were treated so badly by the Italian on the front by the roundabout (Italian Way) we left before we had even ordered and decided to go back to Reina. Again, they were delighted to see us and again were simply fantastic. The wine we ordered had run out so they gave us a more expensive option at no extra cost. So overall a lovely restaurant, great vibe, lovely staff and excellent good value food. Heartily recommended - 10/10!
