A family member who is a carer for an old folks home invited us on a coach trip day out to Hastings - we jumped at the chance knowing that a fish and chip lunch would be available and we always visit the Blue Dolphin when in Hastings. Excellent!!! Fast service but all fish cooked fresh and to order which was superb, I had cod and my companions had Huss seating inside or out and traditional bread and butter and a cuppa to follow Good service and reasonable prices Well recommended

While Alan was wrong about Man U all those years ago we were surprised to find a number of youngsters working the fryers on Friday evening and they weren't great. To take away and eat fish and chips by the harbour arm will always be fantastic.
This time the chips weren't properly double fried and some only just cooked rather than the usual crisp skin, the haddock was a bit dry having been held too long and I got three bones in the tail.
It took nothing away from a lovely evening but cod have added to it ha the quality been as usual.

Great place, at the risk of a heart attack we went twice in three days and would have gone again if we were around longer. It really was like the old style fish and chips I enjoyed as a kid when i lived in Hastings. Huge portions with tasty flaky cod, prefect. Massive portions of chips cooked to perfection. Food was served promptly with proper plates and cutlery, very old school with steaming pots of builder's brew tea if that's what you want. Be warned thought this place is rightly popular and expect to wait for a table in high season. Staff are very young but very good and will make sure you can buy a drink while waiting for a table. If you eat outside beware of the seagulls who also seem to know they serve the best fish and chips in Hastings. Well don Blue Dolphin an experience that reminded me of my childhood in Hastings.

The best fish and chips in Hastings Old Town, and the staff are so friendly too.
Not very big inside and the queue for takeaways goes on for ever.....
It's well worth the wait.
The fish is so white and the chips nice and crunchy.
Well done Blue Dolphin.
