We have stayed at this caravan site before and found it to be very pleasant, so this time we returned but booked a Platinum caravan as it was the best caravan you can book.
On arrival we found the site had been revamped with a very smart reception area, new shop and newly decorated bar/restaurant.
We found our caravan easily although sited on a muddy hill side. It would have been nice if Park Holidays had emailed me to suggested bringing Wellington boots.
On first inspection of the caravan we found one toilet to be covered in human excrement which was very off putting also the light fitting in the lounge had bulbs missing.
The toilet was cleaned when reported and an apology given but we had not been able to use it during our first night. The light bulb issue never got sorted and throughout our stay we were told they were different bulb fittings to other caravans on the site although they looked the same as we use at home in our lighting and come easily from many shops.
The site itself is very attractive with a large lake that you can wonder around.
We paid for breakfasts which is excellent value for people without dietary needs however one of our party members is a vegetarian. Although I notified prior to arrival and on arrival staff were unable to supply vegetarian sausages and the person had to make do with beans and egg on toast throughout our five day stay.
We were also surprised that electronic cigarettes were allowed to be used in the bar area where children are present and we were having an evening meal.
The entertainment staff who were present were rude as throughout our stay the past us and ignored us, I was under the impression that they were there to look after all guest not just ones they already knew.
The swimming pool was closed throughout our stay so was unable to use this again.
I think next time I decide to come to the area I would review other options of stay before booking here again.
